Howard Johnson Clackamas

Where do I start? The location is extremely noisy. The grass is yellow. Our non-smoking room reeked of cigarette smoke, was surrounded by smoking rooms and we had people on the balcony above dropping down their cigarette butts on the grass in front of our room. The pool was VERY small. The complimentary breakfast room was packed and you had to wait 20 minutes to get a waffle. And of course there was the guy on the back steps hacking out tunes on his 12 string guitar until the wee hours of the morning. The staff was courteous but you couldn't pay me enough to stay at especially this, but probably any Howard Johnson ever again.

We attended a local music festival at Pendarvis Farm in Happy Valley. The location of the hotel was perfectly situated for easily traveling to the festival and then leaving for the airport. We had to change rooms because of the overwhelming smell of smoke in the first one. They gladly accommodated a change, though.

A clean, comfortable hotel with easy access from the I-205 and a decent breakfast.

The Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. However, because this is a lower priced hotel I NOTICED there were several people actually living there. One man tore his engine to his truck apart in the parking lot and was working on it for several hours. It was very annoying to hear him rev the engine for about two hours up until 11:00 pm. THE FREEWAY NOISE ALSO WOKE ME AT 3:00 AM. I won't return.

The hotel is easy to get to and conveniently located to Clackamas Town Center. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly.

The location of the hotel is excellent. You'll find yourself next to a hospital for emergencies or a quick hop, skip, and a jump from the major mall. Pleanty of dining options around as well as auto repair close by. The room itself is tidy and quaint with mostly clean accomidations and even HBO. However, there were a couple of things that I wasn't fond of. The shower was lined with soap scum that made it look like it hadn't been washed in a while, the pillows were old and lumpy, and the advertised internet access is not in the rooms themselves. I also requested a first floor room so that I wouldn't have to worry about stairs, only to find that the first floor is down a few steps as well. This may prove a problem for people with bad knees or backs such as myself. Overall, the staff was friendly and I did get a good night's sleep. I would stay again if I needed to, but I'm probably going to look for something a little more welcoming.

The noise from the interstate could be heard through my earplugs and on the third floor. I spent the second night with all my bedding on the bathroom floor with the door closed because I had to get some sleep for the second day of the bar exam. The staff was friendly and very helpful but there was nothing they could do about the traffic noise and the jake breaks in the middle of the night. Great location for the walking to the bar exam. Too bad about the noise.

Excellent room, it was clean, had elec outlets not blocked by furniture. Staff nice, helpful, reasonably convenient to college. Could have used a small fridge.

Good location, clean, close to everything. The only bad thing was that kids were setting off very loud fireworks in the parking lot right outside the room. I moved our vehicle as they had a large box of fireworks set outside. As this activity went on, I called the office to report the noise. Later, when I moved the car I asked about them reporting the continuing noise and safety hazard to other cars, and the desk clerk said she forget to call security! I then went back to the room, call the local police myself, and shortly thereafter the noise ceased. The pool was closed while we were there also, and it was clean and beautiful so we don't know why.

Hotel is in need of some TLC.
