Staff was Nice

Was given the reciept from the office lady and found if I had called them the motel would have been half price. The motel was not the best, when pulling the sheets back from the bed, a condom wrapper fell between the wall and the mattress. The window was broken and would not shut. I was very disappointed.

Friendly staff, Interesting Clientele

Front desk hostess was very friendly. Room was clean and neat, but everything was old... The beds, blankets, furniture, ect. The walls were even cracked and peeling. There was a problem with the toilet when we first got into our room, but they got it fixed asap. All the people we saw staying in the other rooms in the place seemed like very 'interesting' people... Lots of shirtless skinhead looking dudes wandering around, and my wife and I even met some guy wandering around the parking lot at night asking us if we wanted to trade any beer for some weed. The neighborhood this place is in just has an all around 'wrong side of the tracks' feel to it. All in all, it was cheap and adventurous, perfect for our little group of out of town concert goers, I just wouldn't recommend bringing grandma or the kids!

overnight value 4 cheapskates

For a very low price on a Saturday night, what did I expect? A bed (check) shower (check...mostly) and no bugs or screaming neighbors (check and check). Place was worn, old, and cheap (like I like my wo...nevermind). Got to park my bike in front of my room and nobody messed with it. Other riders came in during the night too. Staff was friendly and checkin took all of ten minutes. Phone worked, as did TV, coffee maker, wifi was first gear fast but worked. Refer made noise...unplugged it. bathrooms and showers barely suffice, but again... THE PRICE IS RIGHT! I'm el cheapo!

royal Thai. Don't bother if you enjoy thai food. you won't. Oh, I can say this as I grew up eating both authentic thai and americanized thai from my parents, a thai mom and an american dad. I had the worst gang kai keung I've ever had. Hard to make that bad.

Not worth it

While we didn't pay too terribly much, given the price we did pay, this was not at all what we expected. We both felt uncomfortable the whole time there. The lobby was what tipped me off initially: it was dirty with a bad paint job and funny smell. The room itself was small and smelled of Pine Sol, and the windows didn't open to air it out. The bathroom window didn't even have any cover over it or was made of some sort of textured glass so the building adjacent could look right in! The tub didn't drain and the bathroom walls were painted over very thick and poorly. This sort of thing makes me wonder who is keeping it up and what exactly happened in there. It just reminds you of how many--and how many different kinds of--people have stayed there. We went and got a sleeping bag to sleep on top of the covers. The headboard was screwed into the wall, but the bed didn't completely contact the wall, so the pillows kept slipping down. Both mornings, I woke up with a horrible crick in my neck. The towels were so small and thin they hardly did anything. There was no little shampoos/soaps provided either. Isn't that a standard in the hospitality industry? Had we already not paid for it and arrived before the cancellation time (not to mention it being Memorial Day weekend and no vacancies elsewhere) I wouldn't have stayed. We'll be a little more careful next time.

Adequate, but...

We were there for two nights in late May, 2011. The Westward Ho has recently been bought by a new owner and was in the process of being re-furbished/remodelled. It is not a luxurious place, but adequate for a few nights. The bathroom is somewhat cramped and the new oval toilet seat is too long for the bowel, which is an older, round type. The venetian blinds are old and could use updating with new ones, but I don't know if that's in the remodelling plan or not. There was free wifi available, as with most other motels on 3rd Street. There was an in-door, heated pool which we did not try out (had no bathing suits). All in all, average and adequate. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We asked for extra pillows and received them. I would not have any problem staying there again.

Tacky, tacky, tacky

I arrived and was given a room next to a family with a screaming child and a large, barking dog. I was moved to a room without heat and without hot water. The carpet was filthy and tattered. Motel 6 is better. [...]should NOT recommend this hotel. Do yourself a favor, spend a little more and stay at a Best Western.

Plenty of shops and restaurants of all kinds within a short drive. People in the area seemed nice.
