Quality Inn Albany

The room smelled through the closed door. Once the room was opened you couldn't stand the odor. I orders a non=smoking room and the front desk ignored my request....said it was not a guarantee

I reserved our room online, specifically requesting a non-smoking room. When we checked into our pre-paid room, we were told it was a smoking room and that there was small print on the reservation page that stated we would be put in a smoking room if a non-smoking room was not available. The attitude of the clerks we interacted with was pretty much a "sucks to be you" approach that blamed us for not reserving through the motel. We had no option but to stay there, but the room smelled like an overflowing ashtray and was at the end of the hall by a noisy door through which people passed until very late. The only upside was that, while my wife was sucking some fresh air through an open window at midnight, she woke me up to point out a pair of nutrias cavorting on the lawn. I'd not seen the cross-between-a-beaver-and-otter rodent before, so that gave us one interesting memory. However, we'll not stay there again.

Very friendly, efficient staff. Room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Easy access from Hwy 5. Free coffee, rolls, muffins and fruit every morning. We enjoyed our stay and will stay here again next time we visit our relatives in Corvallis.
