Days Inn Norman

This hotel is quite old. Just understand that it is a place to lay down and you'll be ok. Otherwise, I wouldn't feel comfortable staying there again

This not the greatest hotel around, but for the money you pay, it was awesome. 1. A few days earlier I stayed at a much nicer Holiday Inn across the street. The air conditioner didn't work. There was not a fridge or Microwave in room and entire floor of hotel was hot as hell! The DAys Inn was not as nice, but had fridge, microwave and ice cold air conditioning. This puts them head and shoulders above the Holiday inn which was twice as much money.

The room was small, even though it had two full size beds in it. It did have all of the accommodations (fridge, microwave, tiny coffee maker, TV), but the room door needed to be worked to get it open. Four people were staying in the room but there were only enough towels for two. (This happened each of the 3 days we were there).

The number of ways this motel fell below standards is beyond counting. Holes in the sheets. No towels. Cracked and broken bath tub. The electronic room key was re-set every night so we had to return to the front desk. The "continental breakfast," even by Days Inn standards, was a joke. On the plus side, the woman who checked us in was very pleasant and professional. Bottom line: stay away.

Needed to stay an extra night[...]. We did not have to change rooms.

We reserved a room for three bcuz we were traveling with our 11yoa child. The room only had one single king bed. The staff said Orbitz never notified them that a child was the THIRD person so they didn't give us a room with extra bed. We could get a roll-away for extra cost! They couldn't change room bcuz they were full. Computer area had no chair-had to use ottoman. Plus no elec plug near the computer area. A/C fan would not shut off. Knob was broken.

The hotel was average, personnel in the breakfast serving area - [...] was very efficient, keeping supply of food available, cooking waffles and serving customer with a friendly manner. The hotel was renovating the outside, painters blocked the parking area at some point, but was relatively quiet even though across from car lot sales, and highway noise was minimal. The shower was good and bath clean. The towels were a little "scratchy", but plentiful. We were visiting family in Norman and so only accessed the hotel for rest and changing clothes, all in all was satisfied with accomodations.

Toilet had stool on it; drapes torn and unattached from rod in places so that they would not completely cover window; carpet visibly dirty with numerous stains; towels and linen old and dingy and questionably dirty. I reseved non-smoking room and at check-in signed form which stated I would pay $100 fine if I smoked in the room. The room reeked of smoke and had an ashtray on the table. The desk clerk said the reservation was for a smoking, king and refused to move me because all that was available was a non-smoking double which rented for more. I told her I would pay the difference, but she said she could not move me because the reservation had been via Orbitz. When I asked why I was asked to sign the non-smoking agreement for a smoking room, the clerk told me that "everyone has to sign the non-smoking agreement." My reservation clearly stated non-smoking which I brought to her attention but she was unwilling to correct the matter. Even though I had prepaid for two nights, non-refundable, I moved to another hotel.

I was disapointed with the, so called, complementry breakfast. This will be the reason I would not recommend this motel to friends. Most of my friends, like me, would rather pay a little more and receive a complementry breakfast, than try to find a suitable restaurant in an town and area we are not familiar.
