BEST WESTERN Norman Inn & Suites

the Motel was clean and well kept. we stayed Friday and Saturday and it was reasonably quite (except for one episode in the corridors around midnight), a fine motel, but at 80$... a little pricey...

At first glance you'd think that the location was kind of bad. But if you're staying there to visit the OU campus, it's not a bad place to stay. You can either jump on the highway and head over to the tech park part of campus ASAP, or you can take one of the crossroads just north of the hotel over to the Sooner stadium. However, all the shopping and food places are over on I-35, so you'll have to drive a few minutes to get to them. That said, the highway less than a half mile from the hotel, so it's easy to get to these things. That said, there is a convenience store about 1/2 a block away on the opposite side of the street. You can get most random odds and ends and snacks there. As far as cleanliness, the hotel seemed to be both new and old at the same time... or maybe I should say there was a lack of attention to detail that gave the hotel a slight quality of not fully clean. I feel a bit guilty saying that as the hotel cleaning staff were very friendly, and I didn't come across anything disgusting while staying there. Though I guess my toilet did get plugged once because of low toilet pressure. This place is definitely not a destination hotel for the family. The pool is small and outside. It's surrounded by a fence, but it's so close to the street that I got the impression that you'd feel like you were an animal in a zoo cage on display for the locals to see. The hotel feels safe, but there were construction crews staying there as well, and they seemed to be making noise past 10pm. And there were empty soda and beer cans laying in the grass nearby the pool area. If you're a family on the way to Disney or some other destination, this is a decent place to stop for the night. Though the morning breakfast wasn't extensive. So you'll probably just get some cereal and a danish for the kids before you leave in the morning. There was an onsite coin-op laundry, and the machines were in working order. However, there was only fabric softener in the vending machine. Something I wish I would have realized before I had gone out the convenience store. Still the soda was reasonably priced, and the food sections of the vending machines seemed to be full. So to sum up, the staff were friendly and helpful, it's a safe place to stay, and reasonably clean. Not the most fabulous of hotels, but good for a quick one-night stop, or a short business trip where the quality of the room isn't your highest priority. Oh, almost forgot. Free internet that worked well! That's always a plus in my book. And there was a good selection of cable channels, including HBO and news. And I was allowed to check in 2 hours early.

Arrived at the hotel and was impressed with the looks of it from the outside, which was very nice looking and appeared it was going to be a wonderful stay. Entered the room and what disgust!! Old trash and food in the refridge, nasty room smell, sheets and bedding had stains and appeared to have not been cleaned, bathtub would not drain and there was trash left in bathroom from previous guests. However, the staff was friendly and the cont breakfast was nice. I was given a guest stay sheet with the cost breakdown and found out that if I would have just checked in off the street it would have cost me $58 dollars a night [...].

The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Had questions on places to eat along with how to get to the location. The room was very good. Housekeeping was very good.

This hotel was a really great value. It may not have any luxury services but for the price it was outstanding. Everything from the rooms to the lobby was very clean. When i arrived, the man at the desk already had my paperwork and room keys waiting for me. The night before i stayed at a fancy hotel, paid twice as much and still paid for parking, internet and a city tax. Everything at this hotel was included. Its really easy to get to downtown Norman and the university area so there is no shortage of good food only a few minutes away.

The only thing I would change is the breakfast time. 9 a.m. as the cut off time on the weekends is too early. We're there to rest and enjoy ourselves. The bed and pillows were great. The room was surprisingly large. We will return.
