Excellent for the price
Play golf in a Military Retiree Golf Tournament at Falconhead GC and Windstar GC. Both excellent courses. Should have brought my swimming trunks, as hot as it was, the pool looked very inviting. Excellent restaurants and fast food Chains within walking distance. Very, Very short distances.

Mediocre at best
I was in Ardmore competing in a triathlon, so adequate sleep was key. Unfortunately, the room I was in had no A/C, there was a lot of commotion outside as well as a barking dog above my room. It was difficult to sleep w/ high humidity and a room that was 80'F. There were no ammenities: no coffee maker, no alarm clock, and the WiFi wasn't free.

Short walk from hotel
The hotel was located close to great dining establishments and only 15 mins from Lake Murray State Park. Speaking of dining, if you've never had BRAUM'S I highly suggest checking them out -- the best cheeseburger in Oklahoma and get a peanut butter choc. chip shake to go with it. You won't regret it. Also, there's a Starbucks less than 2 mins away, which is handy for that morning brew & oatmeal (breakfast!).

A REAL DUMP!!!!!!!!
Booked room and paid for a 3 night stay. The room was horrible with cigarette burns all over the bedding(in our non-smoking room)We tried to find another room in Ardmore but all hotels were booked. First night, we were awaken at 2:30, 2:50 and 3:00 with hang-up phone calls.Called the front desk but they said they couldn't stop the calls. Finally unplugged phone. The 2nd night, we get back to the room at around 11:00 P.M. The bed was not made and the room had not been cleaned. Called the front desk and the girl informs us that they do not clean the room if you stay for more than one night--can you beleive this! Didn't get any sleep that night because other guests were drinking and partying. We again complained with no results. This is the WORST hotel we have ever stayed in. The staff did not care about our complaints and would not give us any kind of refund or discount for this horrible experience!!!DO NOT EVER STAY IN THIS DUMP!!!!!!!!

Birthday Blues
We were here to go to the lake for my mothers birthday. We had two sets of family meet us there. When we got to the motel they let us check in but never told us that the swimming pool was not working. We took six hot boys with us. We have stayed at this hotel many many times and never had a problem but this time was a mess. Not only did the pool had work the air condition did not work either and it was over 100 degrees both days we were there. The door to the room was so difficult to get in that the employee had to ramp up against it to get it open. We were not going to do that especially since my mom is just recovering from cancer surgery. She also could not be hot. But, when we did have enough things keep going wrong we went to the office and they said they would refund our credit card. But finding another place on such short notice with a large group was difficult. That is why we use Orbitz so much is to make double sure we have a room and we like it.

We were going to Lake Murry to ride ATV's. This motel did not feel very safe had to keep getting up and checking lots of people in the parking lot drinking beer and just standing around.

Good Value
I stayed at the Motel 6 for a week when I was in OK visiting a friend. It was a good value for the price you pay. The room was not the cleanest I've stayed in, but again, it was a great value for the price you pay.

My review of Motel 6 Ardmore
The Motel 6 Ardmore was located right off Interstate 35 which made it easy to access. It was centrally located near the convention center, good restaurants and gas stations. The desk clerk, while not friendly or smiling, was efficient. The room was clean as far as I could see. These are the positive aspects. Despite it being March 1st, the weather had been unseasonably warm. When we entered room 106, it was hot and stuffy. There were not individual A/C units in each room. Instead, as I learned when I complained to the desk clerk, the motel had one central cooling system and one central heating system. It was set to heat at that time of year and would not be changed to A/C until later in the year. When I said we would move to different lodgings, the clerk made a phone call and said someone would be around to check it out. We had a function to attend. When we returned 5 hours later, the room was still hot and stuffy. We were told that maintenance could not access the room unless we were present. Maintenance turned out to be the GM. She came back to the room, worked in the ceiling, and said that the fan was not blowing. She said she would move us to another room. After 10 minutes, she returned to take us to room 145. The door was standing open and the room felt somewhat cooler. She left a small fan in case we were still uncomfortable. After having the door closed for a few minutes, we realized this room was as hot as the other, and a bit smaller. The fan in this room did not blow, either. We opened the window and the door, but soon had mosquitos, so we had to close the door. Between the mosquitos and the uncomfortable warmth of the room, we were miserable. She was apologetic and said we should register a complaint with the company, because they wouldn't believe her when she explained people were dissatisfied without individual temperature control.

Short walk from hotel
The Two Frogs dinner club is a short drive from the Motel 6. They serve a wide variety of food and have a live band. There is also a good Mexican restaurant next door to the motel.
