Nice 2 night stay to attend wedding

Older two story motel with outside entrances all around, but they have done a good job totally refurbishing it. Actually much better than it looks. Inside the room seemed new as well. I had a nice set up with King size bed in middle of wall with desk/leather chair combo on one side of the bed, and easy chair on the other. I was there to attend a friend's wedding, and was able to get a lot of work done. Very quiet and comfortable. Internet, AC, TV, and Fridge/microwave all worked fine. However, there were a couple of baby silverfish running around the wet area in the bathroom. Hard to get rid of those in an old motel with the pipes running down the middle, even after refurbishing. The shower/tub combo was small plastic, as was the toilet seat (so don't sit on it to put your socks and/or shoes on). I'm not very big and both creaked or groaned if you walked around or sat on them. The continental breakfast was quite good with a lot of choices that were constantly maintained, and the area kept clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good location and good access. It was good for the price and I slept great (and I'm a light sleeper). I'd stay there again (and probably will.)

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Lake Murray recreation area is really close (~10 miles). Beautiful clear lake, but the lodge is really old and not kept up, so stay in town and drive out to enjoy the lake. The Ponderosa Steak House across the street from the hotel was good, so is Budro's Rib Joint in town, but buy your drinks at the bar because the service is really slow.

Clean, Wonderful breakfast, Super Staff

Hotel Staff were very friendly, I was there to help with business and visit family, I thought I had reserved the closer in town location. It would have been better for me. I often travel and the Beds were great! The room clean and staff all friendly. The breakfast open late and kept well stocked. I did not ask to move to the in town location due to the wonderful staff & room.

Will Stay Again!

We stayed in Davis on our way to Arbucle Wilderness. The hotel was very near several shopping and dining destinations, which you could see from the highway. Also, the hotel was easy to find and the breakfast was great. They had a heated pool and a small fitness room. We will definitely stay there again.

There was a good place to eat called the Two Frogs. It is kind of steep if you like shrimp, but there chicken is excellent.

Pleasant experience

Our stay was very pleasant. The front desk staff was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Our room was clean, no hint of smoke in our non-smoking room. We would definitely stay here again.

Just O.K.

Room was very small. There was trash in the room when we arrived and stuff in the refrigerator. It was a non-smoking room but the sheets smelled of smoke. There was no towel rack by the sink. The mattresses were uncomfortable.

Great Place to Stay!

I couldn't believe how friendly the lady at the front desk was. When asked if she knew where I could eat, she gave me a map and highlighted several spots all over town. It looks run down, but it is quite comfortable and nice. The free breakfast was a great way to start the day, and the hospitality was like a mom-and-pop operation---very homey.
