Courtyard by Marriott Cleveland Westlake

Great Staff. Need refrigorators in each room. breakfast options are very good.

Most problematic was the abscence of WiFi in the room. They did have Ethernet wire hookup, but that was no help with my iPad. Supposedly this will be corrected after renovations in February are done.

The staff was quite nice. The room was adequate. Not a particularly comfortable bed. The linens could use some updating. Breakfast could be bought in the lobby/dining area. The buffett was generously stocked with fresh items, eggs, waffles etc. for a very reasonable price. Nothing to write home about but fine for one night. It was right on the interstate but the room was quiet. Plenty of restaurants of every kind that you could walk to or were within a couple of miles radius.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and beds were very comfy.

This hotel was WELL below what I've come to expect from Courtyard. DON'T expect a Courtyard experience - it's pretty much a cheap, dirty highway motel. First of all, the room was horrible; it looks NOTHING like the photo on the website. They basically tried to squeeze a sofa into this tiny room to call it a suite. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting - filthy and in desperate need of an overhaul. The towels were even worse. They were gym towels - torn up, had been washed about 5,000 times and were totally disgusting. The bed and linens were horrible; completely lumpy and uncomfortable; I barely slept the two nights we were there. The TV had very few channels and no Nick, Disney or other programming for kids. I tried to work on this trip but had to lose that idea. The internet took forever to get working and was VERY slow. The "business center" consisted of one broken computer. When I asked if I could plug my laptop into the printer, I was told "you can always try..." no help. The staff was rude and incompetent. I asked for more towelS and they told me to come down to the front desk where they lady behind the counter tossed one to me as she was walking away to do something else. My wife made the mistake of asking the person at the counter for directions to the fitness center and received an exascerbated sigh at having to do something and a short snotty response. It took forever to check in because they were training a new employee - they cared more about training him than the fact that we were standing there with bags and an exhausted 4 year old. When we checked out there was a non-descript $5 fee that no one could explain to me, but I was so ready to get out of there that I didn't bother with it. They charged $11 per person for a crummy continental breakfast. And probably the WORST problem was security. The magnetic locks on the side doors were broken, so anyone could just walk in without a hotel key. Overall, it was absolutely horrible. Stay away from this hotel until they do a complete overhaul!

The Marriott Courtyard in Westlake, Ohio was delightful! The room was good sized. The bed was very comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean and the room was attractively decorated. The staff was friendly and the 12:00 check-out worked well for us. I have already suggested that friends stay there when they are in the Westlake/Bay Village area!
