cleanliness not a priority,

Don't stay at kalahari resort in Sandusky, Ohio if you are concerned about CLEANLINESS! found someone's nasty tank top at the foot of our bed this am in the sheets. had been there the ENTIRE time since they never changed the sheets our entire stay-which means THEY never changed the sheets from the LAST guest!!!!!!! EWWWWWWWW. housekeeping also left coffee grounds all over our counter but i was willing to overlook that, but this is disgusting. When i complained -they would only give us an upgrade on next visit -WON'T be going back!!!!!!!!!! i told them this was an unacceptable dealbreaker situation. They REFUSED to do anything else even though i told them we won't be back. i travel over 15 times a year for business and pleasure so i know what's a good hotel and what is not.

Not so sure it was worth the price

we were in the nomad room. The sofa sleeper mattress had blood stains on it. The queen beds were extremely lumpy - which gave me bad pains while staying at the hotel. We also left a jacket in the closet and immediately contacted their lost & found and they claim the jacket never showed up. Hard to believe a jacket vanishes in thin air. We had to call 3 times before we got a response they could not find it. The buffet dinner at the restaurant was not worth $19.95.

check your reservation!!

Check your reservation with Kalahari !!They had us coming in on the wrong day.Even with conformation email printout we ended up with smaller room and a rollaway bed that didn't fit in room. The only thing they would do is not charge for the rollaway bed, that we wouldn't have needed if thay hadn't messed up reservation. They did offer a $400 room at full price! The rest of the resort is fun with enough to do so that it didn't seem overcrowded even on Sunday of Memorial weekend.Food isn't to pricy we fed 3 16 yr old boys with the 20" pizzia and they let you bring in your own food. We have been to resort 3 times and have yet to see the Zip Coaster run, it's been down for maintenance everytime. Overall a good time but call ahead.

Kalahari Resort

I loved the Kalahari Resort. The breakfast Buffect at the Great Karoo Restaurant was excellent. The staff was very pleasant. I loved the arcade as did my husband and 15 year old son. It was a bit pricy to play the arcade most of the games cost $1.00 to play. The drink prices were very expensive. But overall it was a great weekend for our family. Also the bathroom was amazing, it was very spacious.

Great Family Vacation

What a great mini vacation. Our room was clean with all that was promised and even plenty of extra towels. Only one issue all the ice machines were out of ice for a couple hours. The waterpark at Kalahari is wonderful, the kids were never bored. The staff was so fun and helpful. They gave us printed out directions for other things we were doing in the area. The hotel was crowded but it did not feel that way. We did all our dining on site and the food was great! We are planning to go back in a month or so.

Buy the huge refillable cup for your drinks. It saves money to just get it refilled instead of buying single drinks.

ask the hotel prior to arriving where you should park to register. We registered in the main lobby and loaded our luggage on a cart only to find out that we needed to park on the opposite entrance and we could have registered there.
