Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Miamisburg/Dayton Mall South

The location is wonderful for suburbs south of Dayton...Miamisburg, West Carrollton, Centerville, etc. Near the Dayton Mall, many local eateries, and very convenient for our purpose of visiting family. The staff was more than helpful, pleasant, and accommodating. The area is quiet, clean, and safe. However, the buildings and the interiors are definitely showing their age...chipping exterior stucco, obviously worn furniture (dirty looking, sagging chairs, worn kitchens, etc). I doubt I would stay here again.

The heater was extremely loud and the fridge was loud the entire night. Don't recommend if you want a restful evening or a light sleeper...

The room we stayed in needed repairs, the doors were rusty. the lock on the door was falling off (two screws missing). They just need to provide better maintaince.

I rented a penthouse for myself and some of my family to stay in throughout my wedding weekend. The room itself was fairly nice, like someone else mentioned a little run down, but it more than suited our needs. We did end up utilizing the kitchen to the fullest extent (stove, oven, microwave, and fridge) however the lack of supplies to properly use all of those items left something to be desired. The bed upstairs was very comfortable however, I did not fully understand the reasoning behind having a murphy bed in the downstairs bedroom instead of just a regular bed. The only thing that I did not like was the fact that there are no elevators. My elderly grandmother stayed with us and had a difficult time getting up and down the stairs. Unfortunately all of the penthouse suites are located on the second floors. Overall, it was great for the price. It was perfect for what we needed and under the same circumstances, I would happily stay there again.

A bit far from the Dayton Airport; about 20 minutes from the car rental. Nice and quiet location, a bit difficult to find for the first time. Free parking. In the area you can get everything; there's the Dayton Mall, Target, Wendy's, KFC, gas stations, freeway entrance to 75 & 675, you name it! Less than an hour to Cincinnatti, an hour and a half to Columbus. Very big room for the price. The staff is nice and cooperative. The AC was in trouble and we were freezing, which did not bothered me much though. The breakfast-buffet is good and plenty, but you'd better get up early.

Room was not clean and had mold and water damage on the walls. The bathroom door was warped in a s shape due to moisture problems. You should remove this hotel from your list of hotels so no one has the experience I had. 1 start out of 5 stars is my experience. I will NOT stay at this hotel again...

Listed as 3 stars, but more like 2. The desk staff was very cordial, but there was little else redeeming. The room was clean and the bathroom well-organized, but overall the room felt old and run down. A spider crawled out of the bedside outlet. I asked for a 6:45am wake-up call, then ended up calling the front desk at 6:55am to ask why I wasn't called and was told "I was just about to call you!" The flimsy styrofoam plate at the complimentary breakfast broke and hashbrowns fell all over the floor. I informed the maid who looked at it, pointed to a table and said "there's extra napkins over there" as she walked to a corner table and sat down to socialize. Not good.

I had to report that the bathroom sink drained very, very slow, and it is hard to believe that a cleaning person would not have noticed this while cleaning and should have presented a request to have it cleaned out/plunged. The room had a mild but noticeable sanitizer odor. The TV did not have an ESPN channel. The bedding appear very clean. The breakfast area was worn, but the food was OK.

Was in town for a conference. Price was better than surrounding facilities. Room was clean and neat. The property itself could use a littlemore maintenance of its grounds. Overall, would stay again if opportunity presented itself.

Very clean and pleasant. I felt so comfortable and rested we drove straight through to or destination. I would love to have a weekend retreat there again.
