Home Base for King's Island Trip
We stayed at the Hyatt Place in Mason as a "home base" while visiting the King's Island Amusement Park. We stayed for 3 nights in a two double bed room. The hotel was very clean and spacious for me, my husband, two kids, and mother-in-law. The storage space could've been better. There were only three very small drawers and a very small closet. This hotel served as the perfect place to come home to each night we returned from King's Island.

Visit Graeter's Ice Cream...it's a short walk across the parking lot and the ice cream was fantastic!

Home Base away from Home
We were in Ohio to surprise my mother-in-law on her 80th birthday, . . . which we did! The hotel was our home base and haven. It was also the center for numerous baseball teams attending a play off competition over the 4th of July weekend. The guys working the night desk were awesome!!! Due to the volume, the hotel experienced shortages at the bar and grill. The night shift improvised, addapted and overcame. The whole time never losing composure or sense of humor. I would hire these guys on the spot for my company. Upon check out, my wife expressed our appreciation to the resident manager. We will be back!

Mason has more churches and restaruants than any burg I have crusied. So if you want to eat or worship this is the town to visit.

A nice hotel gone tourist
As a business traveler I've used this hotel several years. I'm not a hotel snob, but have come to love the Hyatt Place model and generally have high expectations for maintenance. This hotel has missed a lot of TLC in the last year. Burns on the carpet, a loud AC unit, coffee maker missing parts, a toilet seat that fell off and a nice big plasma TV that was burned in and a dent in the wall to name a few. Plus housekeeping that didn't come until I had already returned to my room after the work day. I also had garbage in my can when I came to the room the first time and the shower soap had already been unwrapped. The hotel just doesn't have that passionate attention to detail that it did when new. It feels like the owner or management has changed and the customer focus has changed to cost focus. This used to be a hotel filled with business people, but now seems to be filled with tourists for the local coaster park. I won't be returning.

Great transaction
We went for a weekend get-a-way and to do some shopping. Everything was really nice and the hotel staff was great. The check in and check out process was a combined 3 minutes. Awesome experience.

Hyatt not very personable
Hostess was very rude. Walls must be super thin because there was a total of 4 friends playing scategories and we got a know on the door saying we had a noise complaint. If you can't play a simple game of scategories what can you do. The tv is usually louder than we were. I will never go back. Just wasn't pleased at all. Felt like I had to sit and twittle my thumbs. Plus I booked a double bed room and I only was given a single bed.

Very comfortable
Lots of dining choices. We visited Ikea and Newport Aquarium. Really enjoyed the comfort of the room. Great value for the price. Only 2 things that didn't match the quality of everything else was the continental breakfast was just ok I've nicer at other chains. And the tub and toilet area of the room were so much lower quality than the rest of the room.

Unbeatable location for the price
We arrived very late because of snow all the way from Pittsburgh, yet everyone was delightful when we checked in. The next morning we were acknowledged by name when we came down for breakfast. The room was clean, comfortable and welcoming after a long drive in the snow.
