Relaxing trip

My wife and I were going to the Air Force Museum after a day of shopping in the Dayton/Cincy area. Check-in went very smoothly and the room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was satisfactory. Was actually very quiet in spite of highway behind the hotel.

National Museum of the Air Force is approximately a 5-10 minute drive. Simply followed the signs directly to the museum. At the museum, definitely sign-up for the short bus trip to go see Presidential planes and R & D planes. Best part, it's all free!!!

MEPA Competition at Nutter Center

We had reserved a King Suite non smoking room, it came with a flat screen tv, refrigerator, microwave, safe and pull out sofa bed. The king bed was fairly comfortable, but I was a little disappointed that the pull out bed was only a twin, would have thought it to be at least a double. Had to got to front desk to get the bedding. After a long day of moving heavy percussion instuments was looking forward to relaxing in the hot tub by the indoor pool, just prior to our arrival the pump had burned up. Was truly dissapointed, but these things happen. Overall it was a nice little place, had the options that we needed including a free continential breakfast. I would probably stay there again in the future if the occasion should rise again. I would reccommend this place for business travelers and those who just need somewhere to stay while traveling, not a vacation hotel. This Ramada accomplished what we needed it to do, nothing more, nothing less.

Just plan ahead on the internet for your best value, if you plan to order pizza. There is a Wendy's, a Frishes and Sonic within walking distance or short drive. Also many other dining options just down Col. Glenn Hwy.

Visiting The Air Force Museum

This was a great hotel, and a great location. The location of the hotel is a 5 minute drive from any corporate restaurant or store you can think of. It is one minute drive to a Quaker Steak and Lube. But, it sits back from all the traffic. It is next to a highway, but it is sound proof! The rooms are really big. The beds are really comfortable. It is 10 minutes from the Wright Patterson Air Force Museum, you don't even get on a highway to go from there to the hotel, thats how close it is. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 for cleanliness is the drain in the bath tub was clogged. So we had to wait like 15 minutes in between showers, but it was not that big of a deal. Love the sugar citrus soaps and lotion! I would for sure stay here again.

Why just 2 stars

The hotel was very nice and very convienent to other things. The staff (what we saw of them) were pleasant and helpful. Our room was clean and there were plenty of towels. The bed was comfortable and had plenty of pillows. The room was a little cool and I tried to turn up the heat but it was noisy. We would definately stay there again. Oh, yes, the breakfast was adequate but not spectular.

Amenities very weak! Not a good value overall....

I needed to spend an extra night in Dayton. I could've taken a number of decent options for under $50, but I wanted a place with a gym, so I took the Ramada for an extra $30. Total waste of money! The treadmill was too unstable to run on and the stationary bike had a broken pedal. The equipment they had wasn't the heavy duty kind that you find in a real gym but the inexpensive kind a person would buy for their home, which explains why it was broken down. I didn't use the pool, but it was too small for adults; definitely kids only. The room was okay with all the normal amenities. However, turning the heat made the air in the room uncomfortably dry.

Not so good Amenities

Although the hotel was clean, there was no haird dryer, iron or ironing board in the room. I told front desk staff the night we checked and they couldn't help because maintenance didn't come until 7:00 am. We had plans to leave the hotel at 7:30 for our reason for being in OHIO and no hair dryer was to be found.. I t was the first morning that there was frost and I had to leave the hotel with wet hair and wrinkled clothes.

Comfortable and pleasant experience

Our family started the day enjoying coffee or juice and then choosing from muffins, cereal, bagels, boiled eggs, sausage, french toast sticks, yogurt , or fruit. There was time for one of us to use the tread mill before we set out for adventures visiting family, eating out, and touring the Air Force Museum. Our eighteen year old enjoyed the pool one evening whiile we attended a high school reuinion. Overall our stay was a comfortable and pleasant experience.

Disappointed

Our room was clean, but had a bad odor, I think the carpets were dirty. Toilet was stained and looked like it hadn't been cleaned. Front desk personal were noisy. Spa was down, breakfast selections did not vary from day to day and there wasn't much to choose from. We were looking for cheap and that is exactly what we got, although I thought being a Ramada it would have a higher standard.

We received a 10% discount at Texas Roadhouse which was a short walk from the hotel. Many other restaurants nearby.
