Travel Inn Delaware

We have stayed here before. This time the room did not seem as fresh & clean as other times--kind of had a musty smell and everything looked well-used. Needs some TLC, but very convenient to visiting family that lived near by and about the right price for what you get. Nice to have a fridge to keep things cold. The highway can be noisy if you stay in a front room--I'd ask for one on the back side.

I was more impressed the first time I stayed at this hotel with the cleanliness and overall impression. This time, the room smelled musty, it had a cold and damp feeling even when the heat was turned on, the shower dripped all night long. Needs new bedspread! Very tired looking, but relatively clean and neat. The woman at check in desk was very kind and helpful.

Very well kept, a personal note was left for me the second night to make sure I knew how to use the coffee machine properly, I was surprised that the room had a nice safe for valuables, very clean. Maybe could have used a little updating, but otherwise a nice surprise overall.

I didn't feel very safe at this place due to the location against a barbed-wire fence on a highway and the shady characters in the parking lot (man walking around in slippers drinking from a beer can and a car that was decaying with a flat tire). Our key card never worked and the staff were unable to figure out why, so we had to be let in by a staff member every time we needed to enter our room.

The hotel is an older one but overall appeared clean expect for a couple of things. I did not like the fact that there were several insects in the room but I guess they got in when it was being cleaned earlier in the day. I even had to kill a spider on the second night. The staff/owner lacks in social graces and seems upset every time I went in to the office. The last night I was there my pillow had hair on it...and it was not mine. There are very few hotels in the area I guess they have little reason to try harder.
