The room was very clean and the staff were friendly. It is nothing special or extravagant. Just plain ordinary. Don't ask for anything extra such as a mini fridge or cot because no matter how many times you ask their response is well look into it and you will never get it.

Close to the OSU
It would be okay to stay for one day, but I cannot recommend to stay more than one day. Smells a little and not so much clean.

An absolutely no frills motel;
While reserving, I kept my expectations low as I was looking for a no frills place to crash at night. The room offered bare-minimum, and for that I think the price was high as i have stayed cheaper at better places. The staff was courteous. I didnt get hot water in shower (it is something that another review says as well) I wanted to stay close to OSU, so could not beat the location.

Close to the University
The experience was great overall for the price range. The room was clean and the staff was nice. The hotel is close to the University, although unless you just like to walk in Columbus weather, I would recommend arranging transportation to the University as the drive alone takes about 5 minutes in good traffic. Probably the only complaint would be that the room door did not fit snugly in the frame so you could hear "outside" noise pretty easily, but the Hotel is set off the highway so it is only a problem if you have noisy "neighbors".

OSU Game
I wanted to be close to stadium and online said it was less than a mile more like 1.7 miles and the beds were not clean and i only slept on top of covers ...nice hot shower. would not stay again

Not too bad
Not too bad is the best way to describe The Varsity Inn North. The bed was comfortable, which is the most important thing when traveling. But, everything else was ordinary. No breakfast, just coffee at the registration office. It was not plush in any way and whatever you would expect; towels, body lotion, hair dryer, and shampoo was there. Its location is good for OSU events and the price was reasonable. So, if your rate is under $100, you're getting what you've paid for!

Columbus, Ohio Visit for Youth Congress
We were in Columbus for a North American Youth Congress that was at NationWide Arena. This hotel was close to the highway and only four miles from the arena. There was a Sonic, Burger King, Bob Evans right next to us so it was easy to grab food. The hotel was clean and the front desk attendents were great when checking in and out. The shower's water pressure was the only negative to the room. I would definitely stay here again though.
