Amazing Trip
Happily Engaged Nov 25, 2009
My boyfriend had planned a little one night trip for us. He saw there was a $79 a night special at the Westin Columbus and ... decided to go for it. He called the hotel and had told them that he was proposing that night. Well, we got to the hotel a little late ( about 11 pm) after he proposed. They decided to give us an upgrade to the PRESIDENTIAL SUITE!! I couldnt believe it! They were so willing to do anything to make our stay as perfect as could be. They even gave us a late check out at 4 PM! The hotel room(s) were absolutely beautiful! This hotel went above and beyond to make our stay memorable and I would stay there again in a heart beat!

Mich_ella Oct 19, 2009
The hotel was great! Everyone was very nice, the room was clean and welcoming. We arrived in the evening and the staff was ... wonderful. It set the tone for the rest of my stay. The hotel restaraunt provided wonderful morning food selections. The only thing missing was the coffee bar availability. It was unclear that coffee was available 24/7, the sign or slogan was a bit unclear. The sign stated join us for coffee from 5-7, however, the staff was great at accommodating my request for fresh coffee late at night. I would love to stay there again. The stay was high on my chart in comparison to other hotels.

Great Weekend Getaway!
Weekend Warrior Sep 28, 2009
I traveled to Columbus for a friend's wedding. I needed to stay at a hotel that was central to the my friends home and the ... wedding site. The Westin downtown was perfect. I was a 10-15 min ride from every where. We had a rental car and the all day/overnight parking was cheap. The have great staff and quality customer service!

Nice old hotel! Close to German Village
Robertpetry Jun 30, 2009
Helpful staff and good location. No gift shop/mini store. Building is over 100 years old but was remodeled in 2008. It ... is nice and has modern amenities such as a flat screen TV with HD content. However, the high speed internet service was extremely slow and cost me $9.95. It was so slow that I went to speakeasy.net to test it and got 215 kbs. That is poor. Everything else was very good.

Great hotel, beautiful lobby
tammy Jun 17, 2009
The lobby was beautiful and impressive. They had bottles of water right there for you as you left the hotel. The buffet ... breakfast was delicious and the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was beautifully decorated (clean, eco-chic). However the conference center was at least a 15-20 walk away. I thought it would be closer.

This hotel is in downtown Columbus we attend a convention so we did not need to be entertained. There were plenty of good ... eating places an it is near the brewery district. I was very impressed by the downtown area an how much they have brought the area back an redone the old buildings. They have also cleaned up the river front area

Classic Hotel in downtown Columbus
TheLievense May 25, 2009
Overall the hotel was great. A word of warning to Starwood members (I'm a gold member), since Orbitz has no way to enter ... your Starwood number, nor is there away in the Starwood account to find the reservation by the numbers Orbitz gives you, you initially won't get the usual upgraded rooms, nor will they have set aside one of the Starpoints rooms for you. However after getting a disappointing room, I simply went back downstairs and talked to the front desk and she was able to get a Junior Suite for me. Overall this held true for all the staff, if there was ever an issue or a request we had they were prompt, courteous and solved it immediately. The location is also in what is quickly being developed into an attractive downtown area by the river. But keep in mind that is "being developed" there is still ALOT of construction going on in the area so don't expect it to be all picturesque vistas. Two key notes, because this is a historic hotel there is no pool, jacuzzi or sauna. Secondly, the valet (although always prompt and helpful) runs $20/night which seemed more downtown Boston parking rates than downtown Columbus.

Great Service
TravellerFromJersey May 8, 2009
The room, although small, was very neatly maintained. We liked the bathroom, very clean. The room came with (pay per use) ... munchies, water bottle and a first aid kit (5$) - the water bottle was great as we were really thirsty in the middle of the night. Location wise, the hotel is in downtown Columbus. If you are visiting this city during the weekend the downtown doesn't take life till mid-afternoon which was a big shock. There isn't much to do in Downtown.

The hotel was not bad, but in what appeared to be a slightly dodgy neighborhood. For being in the Midwest, the rooms are a ... bit small, as well.
