Good Experience

For the price the hotel was great. I did have some issues with running out of hot water and then one night when i came in i had to park across the street on the street because the parking lot was full, but i would stay there again and i would recommend someone to stay there.

I went to the Short North and there were night clubs, food of all kinds and it was nice place to walk and shop. There is also a park a block off of High Street in Short North that was really nice.

Ok for a nights sleep

We went to a Women of Faith conference at the Nationwide Arena which was only about 1 mile away which was good. The hotel had clean beds, fresh washed sheets and blankets. Plastic encased the mattresses. Satisfied there were no bedbugs. Wall next to bed was dirty. A swipe with a cleaner would have made a difference upon intial entrance to room. There were some seedy looking people in the parking lot upon arriving. Not sure what their business was there! We stayed for two nights. Our car was parked outside our room. No one bothered anything. The staff gave us what we needed. Extra coffee, tea bags and extra towels. Used the coffee maker in the morning and gone for the entire day. For a nights sleep it was OK and cheap. 73.00 a night. You get what you pay for. Everything else was booked. I would "rough it" again there(as I said, the beds were clean and bug-free and that was all we cared about)! Other women from the conference were there too. The location was perfect. We enjoyed a scrumptious dinner at Schmidt's in German Village too! Go there!! Great food and entertainment!

the ....., the bad, and the ugly

The customer service was something less than be desired. I have read the reviews about the service and hoping it was not true but when we arrived and even when we had issues, the woman could barely speak english, and everytime i asked her a question she looked at me like i was dumb. Customer service sucks!!! room was also less than desired. Just because this hotel says "german Village Inn" dont mean it is in German Village. First thing we did was check for bed bugs and could not find any but wouldnt be surprised if there was somewhere. We will never stay at this hotel again!!

Decent rooms, extremely loud parking lot

Only reasonably clean room. Other reviews said this hotel felt "safe," however as a single female travel I have to disagree. This motel's doors face an enclosed courtyard parking lot (shady) and the doors do not have chain locks. There is a bar across the street. All night long on the Friday night that I was there I was awoken by people fighting or yelling in the parking lot. The internet did work better than at the Westin, where I stayed for the first night of my trip.

good for a weekend.

My friends and I stayed here for a weekend while attending a convention down the road. It was nice and clean. Not a whole lot of parking but we made do. Over all no problems really. It was very nice for the price. I would however suggest bringing an extra pillow the one that came with the room was a little small.

It's a short drive to north high street. Maybe only about 5-10 minutes. There are a lot of wonderful places to eat on north high including north market which has a ton of different food.

Excellent choice!

For a short vacation, the German Village Inn of Columbus was an excellent choice. When we arrived, a light was not working, and someone showed up in a couple of minutes and repaired it. The room was basic but had everything we needed. The location was within easy walking distance to good restaurants. We were literally minutes by car to the convention center and arena. Our second time, the best!
