Extended Stay America - Columbus - North

My 2nd night there, my room was given away to another guest. At 1045, another guest tried to enter my room with a key. Thank goodness I had the deadbolt on. Shortly afterwards, the front of the bathroom vanity came crashing down on the floor! I have yet to hear back from the manager on my refund for the night I didn't stay for.

We had booked over a week stay at this hotel. I knew it was going to be bad as soon as we passed the "Gentleman's Club" near the entrance. We checked in and were told that we needed to park in front of the hotel because one security guard is always stationed there at night, the other guard wanders. They have had many, many break-ins in their lot. So we went to our room and the door was wide open. I went inside and my wife went back out to try the key. Of course the key didn't open the door. At this point, my wife and I were concerned because we were in the process of finding an apartment and had a lot of our stuff with us. Not only don't we trust leaving ANYTHING in our car, but we don't feel safe in our room either. We went to the front desk to ask if we could cancel our reservation. [...] Needless to say, we ate the $300+ and moved to a different hotel in a much, much safer area. We will never think of booking a hotel in this area again, nor will we again stay with ESA[...].

Could have been better--we asked for a non-smoking room. Our room definitely had an aroma that identified it as a room that had tobacco in it--a previous guest had opened the window to smoke and dumped all his butts out by the air conditioner--so when we tried to air the room we were bringing in stale cigarette butt odors. No other rooms available either--Front desk staff empathetic but told us to contact Orbitz about the problem... Wife unhappy....Now what?

The room keys were hard to use, the room was dirty and my daughter's socks were black underneath. The add said two full size beds but the beds were rock hard twins. There was no ice bin, cups, and no shampoo. The kitchen area was very dirty. The room had only 30 channels, mostly sports, which was not good when traveling with kids. Also there was no continental breakfast. I felt that the hotel advertised for more than what they really had to offer.

Nice clean rooms with windows that open for fresh air. This is the second time that we have stayed here. Very reasonably priced.

Surprised there was no hair dryer or shampoo.

This hotel was very basic in its amenities, but the room was clean and the staff was pleasant.

The Extended Stay America Columbus was great. I needed a hotel for the weekend on short notice and tight budget. The location was perfect for my trip. Easy to get to and restaurant choices everywhere. Check in was quick and the desk clerk was very polite and friendly. I was pleased with the room. It was not plush but well appointed and clean. Everything was in working order. It was great to have a kitchen for breakfast and late night snack time. There is a 24-hour supermarket about 2 minutes away. I will definitely stay here again and hopefully for a longer time.

THe hotel was very nice and clean, hotel staff were very professional and courteous.
