Business Trip
This place was not clean at all. Also it was completely outdated and had a bit of an odor to it. This is not your typical Hyatt. I have stayed in best westerns that were nicer than this property.

Perfect location
The Hyatt at the Arcade is perfectly located for a getaway weekend. It's a short walk to Progressive Field and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It's within a block of a variety of bars, restaurants and the House of Blues. The hotel's news stand is in the arcade, and it's operating hours are limited. My room was well-appointed and large, but the TV offerings on the hotel cable were disappointing. Only two local stations were available.

Nice NIghtOver Stay
We decided on this hotel as a "nightover" on our trip to Chicago. This was a good choice. The valet was nice to have when traveling long time in addition to bell man to take our luggage to our room. Our room was on the 2nd floor within view of all the shopping stores on lower level. The rooms appear to be converted law office space (from back in the day early 1900s). Beds were comfortable. Wished WIFI was complementary but not a big deal since I was too tired to get on. Restaurants right behind hotel and options to decide on (lounges, Italian, Mexican, romantic, etc.) within a nice brick-faced pavel road. Go at night to see the lights turn on. Coming back into the hotel had issues with the entrance door not opening with the room key. Overall I liked the hotel and would stay at it again when in the area hopefully for a longer stay!

Short walk from hotel
Right behind the hotel (across the street) there are plenty of dining options. At night, the brick-faced roadway path is highlighted with decoractive lights above to give it a cool "New Orleans" feel.

Great place
Very nice hotel. Quick check-in, friendly and informative front desk personnel. Room was very nice although the view that I was told was "very nice" was actually of the top of the parking lot next door. On the plus side, the room was nicely appointed, comfortable and all in working order. In addition, the room was absolutely silent - no street or mall noise. The only reservation I had was that the room did not have a coffee maker. However, I mentioned it to the front desk and they had one sent up that I was able to use in the morning. I'll gladly stay there again.

Short walk from hotel
Lola's Restaurant is half a block from the hotel. It is a bit pricey but well worth it. You can get a table or eat at the bar. We were fortunate to get the "kitchen table" which is has about 5 counter-like seats and looks directly into the kitchen. A real find for a foodie.

Pretty nice decor but noisy
The hotel itself had some pretty interesting decor and a cool layout. It kind of reminded me a little of the interior of a cruise ship, maybe? The only complaint I had is the noise. Around 7-10pm there will be a lot of foot traffic in the Arcade which lends itself to some noisy kids. If you don't have the TV on in the hotel room, it can be a little annoying. Our room was on the garage side so the view wasn't anything to get excited about. I didn't really care, except for when a car alarm went off in the middle of the night. Other than that, the bed was comfy, staff was friendly, and The Chocolate Bar downstairs was an interesting place to have dinner.

If you are a couple, definitely eat at the Chocolate Bar. The food was great and fairly priced. Drinks are unique, and there are a lot of tasty desserts.
