An apartment in the city
Fan of Cincinnati Nov 10, 2009
This was my second stay at Garfield and I will gladly stay there again. The location to restaurants, theaters, and clubs ... makes it easy to get around without a car. The best part is the suite itself. It's like having an apartment home in the city. I enjoyed the extra space without the extra expense.

For an inexpensive breakfast and lunch, I would recommend Cafe Martin within the hotel. For a great dinner, I recommend Shanghai Mama at 6th and Sycamore.

The room was very spacious. A great location to enjoy all there is to do in the downtown area! Easy walk to stadiums, ... restaurants & clubs. Quick drive to Kentucky riverfront area. Staff was very friendly & helpful. Roomservice is an incredible value -- unlike most hotels! But the decor and furnishings are a little tired & worn. Still a great value for the price!

Stayed 3 nights for work. Restaurant was good, [...] at the front desk was great! The rooms were larger than most ... apartments I've seen, and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, glasses, utensils, etc. Great place for an extended stay in Cincy!

A good value
PhillyFan Jun 18, 2009
The Garfield is located downtown and convenient for any destination in the downtown area. I was in town for a baseball game ... and it was a 15 minute walk to Great American ballpark. However, after dark the neighborhood around the hotel is a bit sketchy so exercise caution. The staff was pleasant enough though perhaps not as helpful as at more upscale hotels.

Another great stay at the Garfield!
Frequent traveler May 26, 2009
We have stayed at the Garfield Suites numerous times--it's the only place we stay in Cincinnati, and we go there at least ... twice a year on business. The "rooms" were all condos at some point--each is huge, with a full kitchen, living room, bedroom, at least two TVs, etc. It is not fancy, but it is clean and comfortable, and the staff members are very nice, accommodating, and helpful. The hotel is located right downtown, near many of Cincinnati's popular attractions. There is a very affordable public garage for parking that is adjacent to the hotel--it is staffed 24/7, and there is a pass-through to go to the hotel straight from the garage--great when the weather is cold. The rates are always reasonable making a stay at the Garfield an excellent deal!

Plenty of space with a wonderful staff
Army Wife Around Town May 2, 2009
I really didn't know what to expect, so I kept an opened mind. I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were very outdated ... (probably from the 80's sometime) but the space couldn't be beat for the price. We were in walking distance to fountain square and all the fun stuff. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. It was comfortable and enjoyable. We will definitely go back.

My First Penthouse Experience
Cynthia Sep 25, 2008
I think the William Taft Suite was aesthetcally decorated in all my favorite colors burgundy and deep forest green. The ... furniture was nostalgic. However, the only disappointments I found was the master suite bed CREEKED with every move I made, which made a difficult sleep pattern for me. I also was disappointed with the bathroom not having a jacuzzi jet tub. The shower did not drain properly in the main bathroom upstairs. I had to end up showering in the adjoining room. All in all, the staff was professional, the location was great. I just wished the hotel had a closer parking garage.

Very Large
Doug Sep 3, 2008
This is the largest Hotel room I have ever stayed in. It was bigger than every apartment I have ever had. It was a ... comfortable room with a kitchen. The room was older but felt better than most brand new things. A friendly helpful staff. Not the greatest looking neighborhood. Parking nearby worked well. I had trouble finding somewhere to comfortably park while I checked in. It was a reasonable walk to the Major league baseball game I was there for. The restaurant looked good but was not open after the night game.

Huge Suite right downtown
Willis May 5, 2008
The Garfield Suites actually felt more like a condo than a hotel suite!! A pleasant large living room with television and ... high-speed internet connection adjoined a small but fully equipped kitchen with full-sized stove, oven, fridge, dishwasher, coffee maker and microwave. Dishes, flatware, pots and pans were provided. Even dishwasher soap was provided! The bedroom had a king size bed and television. All the rooms were pleasantly decorated and comfortable. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The location is right in Downtown Cincinnati, walking distance to the stadiums and courthouses. I would readily recommend the Garfield Suites to anyone staying in Downtown Cincinnati.
