Good proximity to Syracuse University

Good location but the rooms are old. Heater doesn't work properly -- blasts hot then cold no matter what temperature you set. Would probably choose a different hotel next visit.

The Parkview was in a great location to the university and the staff was really friendly. The room was big and comfortable. We did have a hard time stabilizing the temperature in the room though...no thermostat.

character and comfort

The desk service was friendly and helpful. I ate breakfast in the morning at the cafe adjoining the hotel. The egg sandwich tasted good and was priced reasonably. The room itself was clean, spacious and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised to find a kitchenette with dishes and a range top, as well as a cushioned dining set. I stayed in the executive, king-size bedroom. What I loved most about the room was the comfortable bed and soft white linens.

Basically nothing went right

Pretty much everything that could go wrong went wrong: - My room was next to the elevator, which was incredibly loud, and went up and down/opened and closed the doors though no one was riding it. I couldn't sleep a wink. - When I asked to change rooms, I was accomodated, but put next to a group of people partying in the next room until late at night. - The air conditioning in BOTH rooms was not working. - In the morning, I woke up and realized there was not a hairdryer in the room. I called and asked them to send one. 15 min later, I called again. I never received one and went to a senior level client meeting with soaking wet hair. - The night before, I asked them to call a taxi for my morning meeting. The taxi showed up late and I didn't have as much time as I wanted to prepare. - The computers in the "business center" do not have Office 2007 so I had to walk 20 min roundtrip to the campus copy center to print out my documents for my meeting. - The bed is really uncomfortable; the fitted sheet keeps coming off the mattress. The hotel was clean and the rooms were large, but the amenities were not at all sufficient for business travelers.

Parkview in Syracuse - Hello Bedbugs

The hotel seems nice. We were awoken at 8:45 a.m. on a Sunday morning by a cleaning person. Worse than that, we woke up to find a bedbug on our comforter that had gorged itself on blood all night. When it was killed, it was filled with the blood of either me or my wife (perhaps both).

Very Good

I was helpling my daughter move after graduation. I stayed one night an was looking forward to sleep for a couple hours in the morning but was awaked with the sound of the vacuum cleaner in the corridor. But after that the hotel had been renovated and is beautiful, the staff super friendly.
