Crowne Plaza SYRACUSE

Was a decent hotel.. Only problem was an employee giving us a hard time when he get back to our room.

I really enjoyed my stay. The shuttle will take you anywhere within 5 miles, even if it's just across the street :). It's only about 15 minutes from SYR and about 10 min walking from downtown. It's next to freeway, but wasn't that loud. All of the staff was really nice and helpful!!

I have stayed at this hotel on two different ocassions. Please know that there are no drawers in the room to put items (underware, clothes, etc.) There are a few shelves available. Overall, the hotel experience was good especially compared to overly expensive hotel immediately next door on E. Genesee Street.

Simple request for a little quiet ignored. The night we stayed -the hotel allowed a party to be booked with music that went on past 3 AM- (loud music). I made after several calls and trips to the desk and ultimatly asked if we could move our room- I had no luck. Since no one at the hotel is apparently empowered to solve problems - I next went to the ballroom and asked them if they cared that there were familes downstairs trying to sleep. The respons I got from one of the organizers -was an invitation to join the party. while very nice not what I was hoping for. We had to leave and go to a relatives house for a few hours of sleep.For three days I have been asking for someone in the hotels management to call me about this - and have not heard from anyone. I would stay anywhere but here.

This is my second stay at this hotel, the last being in May. In May, there was significant construction and the whole place was dusty and in disarray. I thought they would be done. However, the elevators were not functioning properly. An average wait was 10 - 20 minutes making it very diffcult to come and go. The staff was tired of hearing about it. The hotel should advise potential clients of the condition and certainly should charge accordingly.

Hotel is located in, unfortunately, one of the less attractive areas of Syracuse right next to highway ramp. 2 of the 4 elevators were not working at all, and wait for elevator was extremely long. Toilet backed up (but maintenance did arrive promptly to repair. AC worked great (thankfully, as this was a record heat wave in Syracuse that weekend). Hotel staff was courteous, but hotel restaurant food was bland. Hotel is located next to Strong Heart's Vegan Restaurant, which was very good. We make regular trips to Syracuse to visit family, and probably would not stay here again.

The hotel room was beautiful and extremely well thought out. Comfort from the rainmaker shower head to the oversized plush bed shows the Crowne Plaza pays attention to the needs of the traveler. Flat screen tv well positioned above a good size desk, with all the necessary outlets for all small business machines easily accesible. The fitness center was decent size, inclusive of free weights, which is a surprise for a hotel that is not considered a spa resort. Parking was easy and the easy access to I-81 make this hotel perfect for those just passing through;less than a mile from armory square for those who are visiting. The only two improvements I can see the Crowne Plaza making would be a faster elevator system and thicker windows ultimately drowning out the sounds of 81 completely.

The Hotel is clean and hospitable. Parking is free and easily accessible. The front desk is remote and no bellboy service was available. The service at the restaurant was effective and the food and dessert of good quality,though expensive. The neighborhood lacks good stores and entertainment.

This is the second time that we have stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in Syracuse and this was much better. They are close to I-81, so you want to be in a room away from the highway. The first time we weren't, and it was too noisy.

The front desk agent was great when we checked in. The room was not really cleaned on the 3rd. The towels were replaced but the sheets were not changed, as requested, the trash was not removed and it was unacceptable in a Marriott. When I told the overnight desk agent as I was leaving, she was not interested. I will never go back there.
