Alternative to a conference hotel
I attended a conference at a hotel within walking distance from the Downtowner. The downtowner charged one third of the conference hotel's special rate, yet it provided everything that I needed. The staff was exceptionally friendly. They even postponed the test of a fire alarm because I was taking a nap. The layout of the hotel is very interesting. The rooms surround a swimming pool. I did take a swim.

Wonderful mini vacation
The lady working the front desk was very personable and had a lot of information about the area. The inside of the hotel is beautiful; it has a central indoor pool (it wasn't in order at the time but the whole center of the hotel was a sight! The room was comfortable. Basically what you would expect- nothing fancy, comfortable enough. The only thing I wasn't happy with was the bathroom. The window in the bathroom was more like a vent window, didn't provide any insulation from the outside. It was cold out, so I didn't even want to bother taking a shower. It wouldn't be so bad in the warmer months and I definitely won't let that one thing keep me from coming back. Great hotel!

There's a cute park around the corner with a pond, but make sure to bring bread for the ducks! There are a ton of them and they'll walk right up to you.

Nothing fancy, but a great valuee
Room was clean and provided the basic necessities, and was much cheaper than the majority of hotels in the area. In the middle of downtown Saratoga Springs makes this hotel well worth the money.

The Parting Glass is a short walk (~5 minutes) from the hotel, has great food and numerous pool table and dart boards to keep you busy.

Location is best feature
The location of the hotel is the best feature. As the name suggests, it is right in down town Saratoga Springs. The amenities are what you would expect from a motel, and the room was comfortable and quite clean. It was pretty inexpensive so I really wasn't disappointed.

Great location / poor sleepy time
For sure this hotel is on the spot if you want to discover Saratoga. Right on a busy street full of restaurants. However that's the only advantage this hotel has to offer. Rooms are small with an 80's look. The bed is only there for decoration purposes. It's very hard to sleep with outside noises, window lights and tough mattress. The hotel parking lot was full so I had to find a spot in a parking nearby....

Prime Location
We enjoyed our stay at the Downtowner. It was on the main drag in the heart of the restuarant/bar area of Saratoga. We could walk everywhere. Hotel was of average quality for an older hotel. The staff of was very pleasant and helpful. Would stay here again as it was a great bargain.

Downtowner Saratoga
This family run hotel had a very friendly and helpful staff. The location was right in the middle of town with ample parking. Rooms were clean and comfortable and a great value.
