East Avenue Inn

Went to the George Eastman House museum with my 24 year old son who knew absolutely nothing about the founder of Kodak, but now knows. Went to a R.I.T. college hockey game at a sold out Blue Cross arena that was a short cab ride from the hotel.

A Part of the Past

This is a perfectly safe environment for downtown Rochester. It is old and has quirks but I think that's what I liked about it. Front dest people are very friendly. I came to visit my homesick daughter attending Eastman School of Music and she stayed with me, not even an issue. This hotel is right near all the Irish pubs and night life locations that people flock to after a concert or for night life. It was noisy on Fri and Sat nights until late but this seems to be a part of the downtown livelihood. This hotel is right on East Street, one of the most beautiful streets in Rochester with huge homes from the past, you should see it in the fall and winter! We walked for miles. Monroe Avenue is close by which brings trendy quaint shoppes and many Starbucks! I will stay here again and know I am safe, it is plain and simple. Even Eastman School has huge security, and this Hotel does the same. There are police on bikes and horse protecting this area that tries very hard to keep out modern decay!

There is the Strong Museum of Play close by great for young people but I enjoyed it also. And the Eastman House where their is a museum about George Eastman and the founding of the Kodak company.
