Staybridge Suites ROCHESTER UNIVERSITY

Took my wife and niece and nephew to Tochester for the weekend to visit the Strong Museum. Hotel had indoor pool, great breakfast, wonderful staff! The pool was too cold for the kids, but hey the outside temp was single digits. Rochester in January, huh? That was literally the only downside to our trip. Rooms were awesome, quiet, and very clean. We will return...

I always read hotel reviews and found myself skeptical about both the really good, and the really bad reviews. From now I will definitely be more receptive to the bad. I graduated from the U of R in 2010, and had great expectations for the hotel and my stay. I brought my niece and 2 nephews to this hotel (ages 5, 8 and 11). We went out to get food and upon our return I was stopped by the front desk clerk and informed that 4 men had come by asking for me by name and room number and people were calling trying to get into get to my room. I was scared to death, only 2 other people knew where we were staying -my best friend and my boyfriend...so I started to have a panic attack. My best friend came by to see me, and was immediately confronted by the same front desk clerk who told her that she could not come in because there were already 4 people in our room. It was a very large suite, and for the amount I paid per night I should be able to have someone stop by and say hello. She lives in Rochester, and has a husband and child so she had no intention of staying the night. He told her she had to leave, and threatened to kick me out. She called me from the parking lot to tell me she saw guys sneaking in through a side entrance. I went down to tell him that whoever it was that gave him my room number must have gotten the room number mixed up and that there probably IS a party going on but its definitely not in my room...and that people were sneaking in the side entrance...HE HAD NO REACTION TO THIS INFORMATION. He just blankly stared at me and dismissively said okay to everything I was saying to him. Then all of a sudden instead of four men coming by looking for me it turned into four children from off the street came to the hotel looking for me...and they didnt ask for me by name...In fact HE didnt even know my name...HE WAS LYING and for NO apparent reason! The only children that I know were with me. When I asked to speak to a manager he tells me there isn't one. This is absolutely absurd! I can't believe I wasted my money on this stay, and trust me I NEVER WILL AGAIN! To top it all off, I just noticed the base of the lamp in the bedroom is broken...I'll probably get charged $150 for it.

This hotel was well worth it. Great location and picturesque setting. Breakfast buffet better than most hotels of this caliber.

Stayed one night to drop daughter off at RIT.Very clean room ,comfortable bed and pillows,bathroom immaculate.Full kitchen that I didn't use.Slew rear of restaurants and stores minutes away by car.Immediate neighborhood a little sketchy.

I was pleasantly surprised. It was my first time and hope it won't be my last. No complaints. Real friendly staff. Beds are awesome. Fully stocked kitchens. Well kept.

The hotel is gorgeously situation right on the river with ducks and seagulls galore. The breakfast was hot, filling, and a good start for each day. At night we enjoyed the fire, pool, and hot tub. The rooms are lovely and fresh. The flat screen TVs are fun to watch and all electronics work there! The teenage boys could not stop thanking me for finding such a great hotel.

This is the second time i have stayed here, all the personal were great people, they maded you feel like family. I will stay at Staybridge Suites every time i have to make a trip to Rochester. Thank you for being a great place

My family of 6 stayed in the 2 bedroom suite and it was perfect. Such a pretty hotel it's a shame it's not in the greatest of neighborhood.

This was my 3rd time staying at this hotel. I keep choosing this hotel primarily because of its distance from the University of Rochester. Unbeknownst to us during our 1st visit, there is a foot bridge right behind the hotel that takes you right over the the University. Overall, it was a pretty good hotel. There is free breakfast, a shuttle, pool, fitness center and the hotel is very clean. The housekeeping staff are the kindest and hardest working people there and the kitchen is phenomenal for a hotel! There is a full fridge with a freezer, microwave, dishwasher, dishes and cherry cabinets. Also, it is very close the the airport (ROC). On the somewhat downside, I wish the shuttle ran more often and that there were more places nearby to shop and dine. There is also a small discount for those affiliated with the University, but it is still quite pricey. All in all, there are more pros than cons.

the rooms were comfortable and clean!! The one thing that would have made my stay smoother would have been if the shuttle ran all day. they offer shuttle service to the university , downtown , and to the airport. However the shuttles only run from 6-10 and then 5-10 this was useful for approximately 1 out of the 5 trips i needed . Over all though the hotel was a definite revisit .
