Great Hotel
Friendly staff, great ammenities and good bar/food. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice hotel in the Rochester area. Gym could be a little nicer, though.

Not the worst hotel...
We only stayed at this hotel for one night. The bedding was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the receptionist was very nice, so it worked. The downsides - The decor felt dated and weak for a hotel that was rated so highly. The carpet in the room had big stains and there was a strange smell in one of the rooms.

If this is the best????
if this is the best that Rochester has to offer, they are in trouble. I have had better accommodations in an "average" hotel. For the money, it was not up to par! The room is small, walls thin, bathroom TINY and I had a few spiders on the bed! The group in the next room was loud at 2AM, the room phone did not work and when I used my cell to call, NOBODY answered the phone. Not very good for a fine hotel! I could have spent half the amount and had a vending machine somewhere, coffee, no pins on the floor because the staff didn't vacuum and a responsive staff! Get a cab for the extra $20, trust me!

only for children
We've stayed here twice, and should have learned the first time. The first time we were dropping our son off to start his first year at the Eastman School of Music, just a few blocks away. Everyone else was there for a teen beauty pageant. It was crowded, noisy, and the girls used the hallways to practice their dance rountines all night long. The slow 3-elevator bank was in constant use as the children ran back and forth between their rooms and the contest, making the delays excessive. Foolishly, we returned a year later to attend an opera performed by the Eastman School of Music at the Kodak Theater. Apparently, this time everyone else was there to participate in a religious meeting. Again, it was crowded, noisy, and the children used the hallways to visit with their friends all night long. The lack of sound-proofing is amazing. The slow 3-elevator bank was in constant use as the children ran back and forth between their rooms and the meeting, making the delays excessive. Even more children swarmed in the next day for a sport conference of some kind, with buses and uniforms everywhere. This difficulty was compounded by the extensive remodeling that is ongoing, making a barely adequate space even more sterile and inconvenient. Clearly, this hotel caters to large, transient groups, not individual travelers.

Well...
[...] We were expecting a king bed and received two doubles. Hotel is undergoing major remodel. Night clerk was less than accomodating, however, other hotel staff were great! Service and arrangements for the conference we were attending were well done.

Not bad!
Parking is cheap, $4per night and you should go to the front-desk to ask them to stamp the seal on the parking ticket. Lacks of free water and wireless.

MY STAY HERE WAS GREAT. THEY GAVE ME A GREAT ROOM WITH A AWESOME VIEW OF THE CITY ON THE 20TH FLOOR. THE BEST BBQ I HAVE EATEN IN A VERY LONG TIME IS 2 BLOCKS AWAY CALLED "THE DINOSOUR"....SO FREAKIN GOOD! THERE'S ALSO A LITTLE SANDWICH SHOP AROUND THE CORNER IF YOU DONT WANT TO PAY $12 FOR A BURGER AT THE LOBBY BAR. ROOMS WERE GREAT WITH 42 INCH FLAT SCREEN. I WILL DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN WHEN I COME BACK
