Welcome to Sands Motel- This newly renovated Niagara Falls hotel offers comfort and convenience in scenic upstate New York. Not good

Floors not clean ,smelt bad.no phone.No towels large to have a shower,had to buy some.No face cloths.Bad all around

Basic - Ok for the Price

The staff is co-operative. My questions were answered and a microwave was provided when requested at no extra charge. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. I did have to ask for facecloths. It is your basic motel with the advantage of being close to shopping area and restaurants. No frills - but I would come back again.

Avoid this place!

The hotel is small and old, definitely needs a renovation. AC can't cool the room at daytime,floor and bed are dirty, small bath. Very bad experience.

EWWW, gross!

I am not a high maintenance at all, but even I thought this place was beyond disgusting. First of all, the reception area smelled really bad, and like the rest of the motel, it looked terrible (paint cracking and peeling, carpet dirty, bugs everywhere). The rooms were definitely not well kept. There were holes in the walls, and the bedding looked like it was never washed. The bathroom door does not close, and things were rusting all over the place. It was the absolute worst place I have ever stayed at. Don't waste your money here.

You get what you pay for

This is an average hotel. You get what you pay for. It is a place for you to stay for the night. Nothing more than average and nothing horrible. The good thing is you get bus passes to the Falls. Forget about its breakfast. The breakfast is horrible.

Get the Discovery Pass at Niagara Falls only for $33. It is definitely worth the money.

AWEFUL EXPERIENCE

I had booked a hotel at Niagara falls for a weekend vacation while in the area. When I reached the hotel/motel, the office was closed with a sign saying that the office is closed and will open at 8.30 am. If the guest wants an early checkout to leave the keys in the room and close the coor. I have a picture of the sign. I called orbitz after all attempts to search for the receptionist failed (called the property, rang the bell outside the office etc). The lady who answered the phone tried to call the property and no one answered as well (I could hear the phone ring). The lady said she could not do anything until she is able to contact the property. There was no supervisor available to escalate the call. I was tired, had already paid for one room and did not want to pay for another. The agent then advised that the only option is for me to call back in the morning. When I called back Orbitz in the morning, they called the property. The manager who answered the phone said that he was available at the property till 2 am and held my room till then. I was at the property by 10.30 pm. My picture and the call to orbitz should prove that. The manager also said that orbitz had called him multiple times for changes in my reservation prior to my arrival. Orbitz has no record of these calls, nor did I make any calls to orbitz to make any changes to my reservartion. The changes were that there are 4 people in my party, all are old people etc. All of this is inaccurate information.Even though the information mentioned by Mr [...] (manager of the motel) was obviously inaccurate, I have a picture of the sign that says the office was closed, the manager said he would not pay obitz and orbitz said they will not refund me. Not only was I seriously inconvenienced, i lost the money for my booking, I was hearing lies from the hotel manager (on actions by Orbitz and me) and the Orbitz team was indifferent to all this just going by the fact that they will not refund me as the hotel wont refund them. On top of that the customer service agent nor supervisor could not understand the difference between "The office is closed" as compared to "the hotel is closed". My issue was that the office was closed due to which I could not check in to my room. I have used other sites and even orbitz in the past. I made a mistake by using Orbitz ... customer service during times such as these when a customer is in distress and needs help was aweful. How do you hope of getting repeat customers? I am hoping this mail will go to someone at Orbitz corporate and not some indifferent outsourced service team. The assumption being that Orbitz corporate will have better customer service focus then the call center.

hmmm... it's pretty gross here!

Well, the ONLY thing good about this hotel is that you get vouchers to take the bus to the falls/casino. The room I requested was non-smoking and it reeked of cigs. It smelled so bad that we kept all of our items in the car so they wouldn't smell. It was almost like a roach motel. I couldn't sleep all night due to the skeeviness of the room. Then about 11:30 a group of bikers rolled in and were right outside my window partying for a couple hours. I called the desk and reported too much noise and he said he would go and tell them to keep it down. I don't think he did. Then I had my husband call and he said if he didn't do something about this we would call the police. Then they finally were quiet. THe location in 6 miles from the falls but close to the outlets. The continental breakfast was sugar and chocolate mini donuts that were stale. Yuk I will NEVER stay at this hotel under any circumstances. You are safer sleeping in your car! Absolutley gross...

Great Value for money & friendly staff

Sands Motel is definitely a value for money. It has good amenities and also a pool which was a surprise for us. we didn't expect it for this prize. Its also veery closer to lot of eat outs like Mcdonalds, & so...just 7 miles to the falls...definitley i will recommend to my friends & familiy.

Not good for money

Location is better. but the room size is pretty small. bathroom has no space to keep ur dress. very basic room amenities.
