Good location, clean rooms
THe hotel is as standard as any other HI Express hotels. Nice hot breakfast in the morning (it does get very crowded though). Short drive (about 10-15mins) from the falls and in a decent location.

Niagra at a glance
Great Hotel away from the hustle and bustle yet only a bus ride away to Niagra and Canada! We did it all in just a couple of days, rode a boat to the falls, crossed over to Canada, shopped at the outlet just a great mini vacation. Had enought time to take a leisure swim in the hotel pool!

Worst travel experience ever
We were returning to Michigan from Montreal with 3 puppies we bought from a breeder there. The holiday inn at Niagara Falls has a "pet friendly" policy with $50.00 fee for having a pet in your room. To be on the safe side I contacted the hotel directly to make the reservation and explained the situation. I said the puppies will enter the hotel in their crate, stay in the crate and leave in the crate. We won't let them loose in the room. The person I spoke to said "That's wonderful, can I play with the puppies when you arrive?" I said of course. When we were checking in the manager came out and when she learned we had 3 puppies she said "You can't stay here with 3 puppies." I had just driven for 10 hours and was exhausted so I argued the point for ten minutes pointing out that I had phoned ahead to apprise them of the situation. Finally she said in a hostile tone of voice "OK but remember we have your credit card number" I replied that "Of course I would expect to be liable for any damages but there won't be any because the puppies won't be allowed out of their crate while in the room." "But she said if we get any complaints about noise from another room...." The threat of financial penalties left hanging in the air. Now I'm thinking what are they going to do, fine me if the puppies bark. I went out and discussed the situation with my wife. I had never encountered such hostility from a hotel staff person in my life. I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep in such a intimidating unfriendly environment. So I went back and said "You win we won't stay, just cancel the charges on my credit card. "She said it's too late to cancel you will be charged for the room." I said but you spent 10 minutes telling me we couldn't stay. What were you planning to do, refuse to rent me a room AND charge me for it anyway?" She simply reiterated that I would be charged for the room.I now had no choice. Exhausted and upset I drove another seven hours and reached home in Michigan at 2 AM in the morning. I will of course dispute the charge with my credit card company. If you prefer hostility over hospitality try the Holiday Inn Express at Niagara falls (US side).

EXCELLENT
This is a GREAT hotel to stay in if you are traveling to see Niagara Falls! It is updated, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is free and it is wonderful as it includes eggs, bagels, sausage, biscuits, danish, etc. It is more than you can ask for the price. It is about 10 minutes to the Falls and we would recommend it to our friends.

Niagara Falls Holiday Inn Express/Suites
Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express while visiting Niagara Falls. Whatever you do in Niagara Falls, do not miss the Cave of the Winds! It was amazing. We got the Discovery Pass. It took us 1 1/2 days to see all the sites. Fireworks over the Falls were nice. The Holiday Inn Express was okay. Nothing really wrong, nothing really oustanding. It's about a 10 minute drive from the Falls. We arrived about an hour before check-in, and our room was ready, so that was nice. Our room was clean, but I was disappointed with the size. We had a "2 bed suite". Well, I've stayed in suites in Microtels and Super 8's that beat this suite. Sure, it had a couch, a couple of chairs, fridge, and microwave. But it was so cramped that I felt like I was tripping over myself walking through the room. Coffee was availabe 24/7. Breakfast was okay, lots of sugary foods, limited healthy choices. Front desk people were friendly, but could have been more knowledgable. At checkout, the woman asked if I wanted to keep the charges on my mastercard. I had to explain to her that it was already paid in full. I wouldn't say stay away from this place, but I wouldn't rush to stay there again.

Go to Cave of the Winds! We stumbled across 3 Sisters Island after making a wrong turn. Definately worth a stop. The power of the rapids is amazing.

Hotel Pool is OUT OF ORDER !!!!
After planning a nice Family Vacation getaway, and traveling 3 hours in a SUV with 2 very excited girls who can't wait to jump in the Pool when we finally get there, Try telling a 3 and 4 year old that the Pool is Closed for renovations....The look on their faces broke my heart. We almost chose a less expensive hotel which WAS closer to the falls (and had an open POOL!) but decided to splurge and pay 30.00 more to stay in a nicer hotel, If we knew the pool was closed we would not have booked the room, in fact I would have paid double to not have had to look at the faces of my 2 dissapointed little girls when I had to tell them the Pool is Down. Hotel was nice, but they tarnished their image with me because of their false advertising...BE UPFRONT WITH people and it will get you farther in business. We will now call before trusting internet advertising.
