This hotel is very close to the falls and the casino, but it's pretty run down. Worked fine for our one night stay, but if i wasnt concerned with the price is would have rather stayed somewhere else. Nothing modern about it at all.

The sports bar on first street is nice, but pretty dead during the week. Can't beat dollar beer specials though.

stayed 10/21/10, two rooms

There is no microwave and coffee maker in the room. There is no coffee provided in the lobby. The WiFi internet is good and fast. Otherwise the hotel looks neat and clean, enough parking facility, close to attractions.

Pros and Cons of the Econo Lodge

The location is perfect. In walking distance from the Falls, Maid of Mist, Casinos, and etc. Nice Indian restaurants around. The hotel itself is not what they show in the brochure or you see on their website. There is no pool as shown on website, the elevator is very scary, and stair case was very sketchy. Perfect place to shoot a horror movie.

While in Niagara Falls State Park, instead of going to the observation deck, cross the bridge to the little island and you will be right in between Canadian and American Falls. To see the night view best time to go is between 9pm-12am.

Two star hotel close to everything

Well located hotel. Dirty and out of shape hotel with no restaurant, one single person at the counter doing everything including cleaning floors. When looking for the best price, we had by mistake a smoking room that had a dirty mattress but a clean bathroom and noise from the elevator that was next door. Complementary breakfast is served in the small dirty and out of shape reception of the hotel where just 4 people can be sitting and 2 more standing at the same time with no ventilation and next to a ATM machine. The hotel has an indian food restaurant that was not open. We wanted to have a snack or something for dinner that was impossible to get since it was rainning and the closest restaurant (according to the recepcionist) was more than 2 miles away. Next moring we found a Holiday Inn hotel across the street where we had a wonderful breafast for $9.95. Best thing of this hotel is location since we could walk to the park at night to watch the falls and took at the Holiday Inn 4 hour tour during the day. We called the receptionist from the airport asking for a shuttle from/to the airport and got information for a cheap great service of a city bus that took us to the hotel for US$1.75 instead of the $35 shuttle rate. Recepcionist was friendly and hotel needs a lot of cleaning but it was good for what we paid but next time I would pay a little more and stay at the Holiday Inn and would do my best to never choose a smoker room by mistake again!!

Walk at night around three blocks have dinner athe Hard Rock and then walk to the park to see the american falls with lights from the canadian side. Consider the trolley at the park or take a US$69 four hour tour to see all the park and falls! do not miss Maid of the Mist and The Cave of the winds (which is not a cave but a great experience under and close to the american falls. Go the Hard Rock cafe for Buffalo wings and do not expect much for this area of the town with alomost none good restaurants or big hotels where the main building is the Hotel-Casino.

Sufficient, nothing fancy.

Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Location was great, we could walk to the falls in just a few minutes. The rooms were fine, somewhat dated but clean.
