Radiating history from its walls, the Wellington Hotel New York?built in 1901?stands apart from the fast pace of modern city life surrounding it. The plush lobby is decked out in rich tones and intricate murals, while focal chandeliers give the interiors a classical ambience.  If you are here on business, the hotel?s central location and 24-hour business center will cater to your every need. Midtown Manhattan is full of excellent restaurants; gourmets would do well to try the Wellington?s delicious plates of Greek mezze at the Molyvos restaurant, or the Park Cafe's informal all-day dining options.

Great location, service, and price!

Most of our time was spent outside of the hotel. However, when needing directions or assistance, the hotel staff were very accomodating. Everything from convenience stores to restaurants to theaters to Central Park to Times Square were very easy to get to from the hotel location.

Great Location

The Hotel was very nice and clean. They upgraded us to a suite which suited us perfectly! It was a great location! Just a few blocks from Central Park, Theaters, Time Square and all the shopping three 16 year olds could want!

Short Term Business Trip

The room was comfortable, but the bathroom was very small. The toilette seat was too close to the tub, so for a big person like myself the fit was uncomfortable. The decor was satisfactory but would prefer hard wired internet service as opposed to wireless only. PS Able to pick up wireless internet routers from nearby locations.

Pleasantly surprised....

Rooms were a decent size, considering New York and being several blocks from Times Square. Friendly staff. Most helpful people during my stay were the New York police officers.

Fine for cheap.

The room was weirdly huge for NYC, but quite grubby, w/ visibly dirty carpet. Still, the bathroom was clean, and everything else seemed fine. There were a lot of tourists - it's right in midtown - and a fair mix of young people and families. The staff was actually quite friendly and helpful - far better than the room itself. I'd call it a great cheap option to be in midtown, but only if you get a good deal. Totally acceptable as a bargain, but not a place I'd choose to return to given other options.

Clean, comfortable, affordable.

Thought the location was great. Walked everywhere. Right next to Carnegie Hall. Rooms were small but comfortable and clean. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Great little coffee shop in lobby area. The only thing negative I can say is there wasn't any coffee pots in the room.

Because I was only there for 1 day. I took the Grey Bus around the city. For $40.00 you could board or get off as many times as you wanted. Buses ran every 10 minutes. Saw many sites; ground zero, little italy, china town, rockefeller center, central park, art museum, empire state bldg. The tour guide were very informative about the architecture and history of NY. Well worth the money.
