Radiating history from its walls, the Wellington Hotel New York?built in 1901?stands apart from the fast pace of modern city life surrounding it. The plush lobby is decked out in rich tones and intricate murals, while focal chandeliers give the interiors a classical ambience.  If you are here on business, the hotel?s central location and 24-hour business center will cater to your every need. Midtown Manhattan is full of excellent restaurants; gourmets would do well to try the Wellington?s delicious plates of Greek mezze at the Molyvos restaurant, or the Park Cafe's informal all-day dining options.

Perfect NYC Family Hotel

This hotel is perfect. We were told we received a renovated room. It was supposed to have one king bed and one sofa bed but ended up having one king bed and one queen bed which worked out great. The living room was very large with a comfy sofa and had a small kitchen table with 3 chairs and small kitchenette. I cannot tell you how spacious the rooms were...not spacious by NY standards but it was like a large apartment. It was also very clean and had 2 desks and chairs. I will never stay anwhere else in NYC. We were a few blocks from Central Park, Rockefeller Center, and Times Square. We walked everwhere and only needed to ride the subway to Battery Park. Don't book anywhere else, the Wellington is perfect. the only thing you should know is that the kitchen is not stocked with plates or utensils and does not have a coffee maker. But they have great room service and starbucks is across the street.

Fantastic location

We have stayed there over 5 years, at least twice a year and the location is perfect, the rooms and beds are confortable. My only complaint is that the 'city' is building a new hotel nex door and workers start sorking at 7:30 am with constant anoying noice since that time... but it is not the hotel's fault.. so... hope the construction finishes soon!

Great central location close to many attractions, Concierges are very helpful they sorted a taxi for our return trip. All staff were friendly. Had a lovely meal at there hotel's Greek restaurant. Not the most luxurious hotel but nicely decorated and clean. It was great as a base camp.

Managers are too busy.

We were not acknowledged when we were waiting to check in and when she finally saw us, she didn't help us, she said somebody will be right with us. We waited for another employee to help us.

Super Location !

Location was key for us and this hotel had it. One step away from two subway lines, great for getting any where on Manhattan ! Even went up to Yankee Stadium on that subway.

Birthday and Graduation Getaway

The arrival to the Big Apple was an incredible experience. Upon entering the hotel there was a mystic that was overwhelming; the staff was bustling and the attention was welcoming. The bellhops were active and inquisitive with guests. Some were more gregarious than others. After having checking in the luggage, we spent time walking around to see the city. We went to art stores, FAO Shwarz, and Central Park to become more accommodated to the new surroundings. The city was charming and the pace of life on the streets was everything one hopes for when in New York. The hotel, sadly, did not meet the same expectations. The room was very small, but had a great view. Some of the amenities were lacking. The absence of hot water, the shower had blistering water pressure, and the walls were somewhat thin. When entering the room, a claustrophobic feeling set in and it was difficult to find that special ambiance of a hotel room in New York. All in all, the stay was excellent because of the sights seen, except for the Museum of Modern Art for which we had high expectations. I would recommend the city to a friend, but not the hotel and not the MOMA. The booking company had excellent service and the hotel did as well. Unfortunately, the hotel room was not what we thought it would be and much could have been done to make it a better experience. All in all, it was an amazing experience to celebrate the special occasions of a birthday and graduation.

Too expensive for not providing wifi

Overall it is a good hotel, just need some little things to make it worth it to stay for the price. I paid $316.99/night and for few cents, they can buy a shower cap to put in the bathroom. Also, this is the era where wifi should be for free! Thankfully, one of the staff told me I can just go to starbuck across the street if I want to work on my computer to have a free wifi.

Wonderful Stay in NYC

We and our friends enjoyed our stay at The Wellington. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially Judd the Bellman. The rooms were small, but nicely appointed and the bed comfortable. The location of the hotel is excellent. Within blocks of Times Square and Central Park.

Weekend away with friends.

The location of the Wellington was great!!! Lots a great restaurants close!! The rooms were small, the bath towels were very thin, the lobby was crowded and very little places to sit. No bar in the hotel, except in the Greek restaurant and it closed early. Would stay again, though as this location was great!!!

Weekend to see Broadway shows

The location in Times Square is within walking distance to all Broadway shows. Staff was great, very efficient and room was clean and comfortable. When in New York, you want to be close to all the things that you planned to see. Subway right there, and being on 7th ave, cabs were easy to catch!
