Radiating history from its walls, the Wellington Hotel New York?built in 1901?stands apart from the fast pace of modern city life surrounding it. The plush lobby is decked out in rich tones and intricate murals, while focal chandeliers give the interiors a classical ambience.  If you are here on business, the hotel?s central location and 24-hour business center will cater to your every need. Midtown Manhattan is full of excellent restaurants; gourmets would do well to try the Wellington?s delicious plates of Greek mezze at the Molyvos restaurant, or the Park Cafe's informal all-day dining options.

First time to New York

The htoel was in an ideal location. The rooms were clean but small. The heater was not controllable and therfore the room was very warm. We opened the window to compensate, Staff were great. Check in and out was seamless. The room was cleaned and serviced regularly and left very clean and well done.

Last minute savior.

In all, there were comfortable beds, good water pressure, friendly staff. We only stayed one night (and checked in at 9PM to boot), but I wouldn't imagine finding too many better deals given location, cost, and availability.

Wellington Hotel in a Good Location

The hotel staff was courteous, prompt to attend to our needs, kept the rooms nice, and overall...provided a good experience. Although the rooms were smaller than expected, we were able to upgrade to King Beds in all 3 rooms the family stayed in, and they were a little bigger. Bathrooms were small, one sink, and a couple of repairs would make it better, but the experience was great. We were 4 blocks from Central Park, 6 blocks from Time Square and the Theatre District. For the price and location, I would stay there again.

Time-saving tip: Long walk from hotel

What seems like a long walk to some of the attractions, is actually a better deal. Saves you money and you get there quicker. Save an attraction that is further away and might require a Taxi for a Sunday morning / Midday. Easier to get there than A Friday or Saturday night. Took us 35 minutes to go 1.7 miles down 7th Avenue around the 5:30 pm hour.

Wellington Hotel

Excellent staff and speedy check in and out. All personnel including cleaning crews were first rate. The rooms are just too small and the bathroom could only accommodate one person at a time. In fact, it is tiny. No other way of putting it. Elevators were not the best. One was not working at all. Evidently the hotel management appears to be doing its best with an old structure. The hotel does not have a dining facility. As such, the breakfast arrangement with nearby cafeteria is ok but can be very overwhelming in the mornings any time after 8:30 AM it gets very crowded. Lobby internet is not free. WiFi in the rooms is not the best. Last, the noises from construction and repairs both internally and externally were not conducive to a relaxing environment. I am not sure of staying there again. R/Dr. M.A. Gonzalez R.

Pleasant Surprise! Will Return

I'm not one to make reviews on here so I will tell you that this hotel really made my day! The check-in was super fast. The room was on the top floor with no view (who cares) but the beds were comfortable, the shower was the best hotel shower I've ever been in (I travel all the time), and the location was amazing. This will become my go-to hotel when coming back to NYC.

Nice space for the price

We got a suite with two rooms. Very spacious for mid-town Manhattan. Floor boards creaked and the bathroom fixtures were dated, but was clean, spacious and comfortable for a family of 4. Staff was friendly and responsive. Only complaint, the beds were very hard.
