Radiating history from its walls, the Wellington Hotel New York?built in 1901?stands apart from the fast pace of modern city life surrounding it. The plush lobby is decked out in rich tones and intricate murals, while focal chandeliers give the interiors a classical ambience.  If you are here on business, the hotel?s central location and 24-hour business center will cater to your every need. Midtown Manhattan is full of excellent restaurants; gourmets would do well to try the Wellington?s delicious plates of Greek mezze at the Molyvos restaurant, or the Park Cafe's informal all-day dining options.

NYC is amazing

Remarkable location, easy access to Broadway. Bed and bath were clean, and all we did there was sleep and bathe...good place to stay for the price if you are going to be "out and about". Would not recommend as a romantic place, or if you want to sit around in the hotel!!

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

I recommend purchasing the "city pass" if you want to visit museums and historical sites...one price gets you in multiple attractions, just make sure you can use it on separate days. Also, the tour buses can give you extra days if you bargain with them when you make the purchase on the street. There will be bus tour vendors everywhere, CHEAP.

I would do it again

If you want to stay in the heart of NY, and are looking for a great deal then this is the place to stay. The staff is super friendly. The rooms are old, hotel is 111 yrs old, but they are clean and modern. The location was to die for...We could see Times Square from our room, but were not bothered by noise from below, and first class shopping was VERY close.

We purchased the day long subway metro card for $7.50, great deal. Also, take the ferry from Staten Island, South Ferry Terminal over to NJ for free. You get a GREAT view of Manhattan and Statue of Liberty.

Great Location/Great Value

This is an older, but very clean hotel that is centrally located to NYC's best tourist locales. We felt very safe and the room to room noise was non-existent. The only thing I missed was having coffee in my room.

Great Trip!

The hotel was awesome! I took a trip with my teenage daughter for a week and we had a blast. The hotel is in a great location! We were able to walk to Times Square, Central Park, Rockefeller and more in about 10 minutes! The staff was friendly and helpful! We were also very surprised to see that we were upgraded to a suite because we had never been in NYC! I plan to make another trip soon, and I will definitely stay here again.

If you plan to visit NYC, I recommand that everyone invest in the New York Pass with the on and off bus option. It is a great value.

Very nice

Great locations, small room but had a kick butt view of time square. You really don't spend all that much time in your hotel anyways...so it was perfect, comfortable bed. Close to subways! Would stay again!

Great Location!

The hotel was located within walking distance of everything including subways, Central Park, Times square, Broadway plays, Rockafeller (sp?) Center. The lobby was crowded during the day and no early check in, but room was quaint & clean. Staff were friendly. Didn't see ice machines. All in all worth the $. Airport shuttle expensive, trains save a lot. Rosie o Gradys was a nice place to eat a few blocks towards time square. Madam Tussards was fun on 42nd street. Look around for coupons and specials.

Great location, old hotel

The only reason that will lead me to chose the same hotel the next time is the location (walking distance from many things)and the reasonable price being in NYC. The hotel is very old, our roon in the 12th floor was good but noisy. The wireless connection at the room was supposed to be included in the Orbitz price when booking trough internet, unfortunately I need to pay 40$ !!! for the whole week, besides the internet speed was really poor.

Very charming, comfortable hotel

Very charming not chain-type hotel. Doormen and front desk staff very efficient, friendly and helpful. Good personal service. Room arrangement charming -- four people in a room, one room had two twin beds and a bathroom, then through an alcove was a double bed and another bathroom. Small but beautifully updated bathrooms, one with a window that opened! We loved the room! Also much appreciated valey parking, reasonable at $35/24 hours. And so convenient.

New York Wellington

The room was very nice but very small. There was only one bed for two people. I do not mind sleeping in the same bed with my best friend but, would have preferred to have two beds. I heard other quest complaining of the same thing and there were no 2 bedrooms available.
