The Warwick Hotel New York combines the trifecta of Old World elegance, 4-star luxury and a prime location. Founded by publisher William Randolph Hearst in 1926, 426 comfortable accommodations boast marble bathrooms, and vibrant, 1930's-style artwork decorates the walls of the on-site restaurant. Long popular among high-society guests and stars filming in the city, Hearst had this hotel built for sentimental reasons, and that romantic quality still twinkles in the air. All the major amenities a guest would expect from upmarket NYC accommodations are present inside the Warwick, including a gym, currency exchange, baggage storage, laundry facilities and concierge service. Anyone planning special events or business while they're in the Big Apple should take advantage of the meeting room, business center and banquet facilities.

Dining

Murals on 54
Murals on 54, the hotel's refurbished dining room, features innovative continental cuisine with international influences, with a delectable menu consisting of mouth-watering fresh grilled dishes and a variety of fine seafood with strong French, Spanish and Mediterranean accents. The dining rooms' fresh design accentuates the historic murals painted by Dean Cornwell, known as the "Dean of American Illustrators." Cornwell was commissioned by William Randolph Hearst in 1937 to paint murals for The Raleigh Room, then the original restaurant inside this apartment hotel. These murals are now completely restored.
Randolph's
Randolph's, a newly expanded and refurbished restaurant and lounge, is designed more like a living room than a bar, with cushy sofas and armchairs and large windows overlooking the drama along Avenue of the Americas. There's an express business lunch menu, an extensive wine list, and a bar staff with an encyclopedic knowledge of cocktails, from traditional to trendier-than-thou. Because RANDOLPH'S is situated amid the Midtown business and tourism district, it's the perfect place for a relaxed business chat or a pre- or post-theatre rendezvous.

Meeting facilities

Meeting Info
The hotel's 7,000-square-foot function space was recently refurbished, transforming the rooms, through special touches like hand-painted frescos and English chintz, from basic to extraordinary. With a spacious central pre-function area, and all conference and banquet rooms on the same floor, companies and social guests have privacy and the luxury of the choice of a cluster of rooms that perfectly suit their room requirements.

Nice comfortable location!

A great value for a short getaway. If it was good enough for the Beatles and Cary Grant it's good enough for me.

Our 1st Anniversary in NYC

Hotel was in a great location. Close to Central Park, a block away from a subway stop (that takes you everywhere, great subway system!) great restaurants and shopping near by. Not too far from broadway shows, definitely within walking distance. Good sized rooms. Very nice staff.

great breakfast place around the corner at 55th & 6th. little market just around the corner from hotel to get any food or drink you'd like. also we'd recommend taking the double decker, hop on hop off, city tour / grayline tour to get a feel for the city and where everything is before deciding where to go and how to get there. you learn a lot about NY while touring around too :o)

Amazing vacation

Was located so close to everything we walked to many of the sites we wanted to see. The ones that were far were still easily accessed thanks to our location to most of the subways. The hotel was clean and the people were nice Could have had a better view but it wasn't something we really cared about because we didn't spend much time in the room.

Take the subway. Taxis aren't expensive but the subway will take u almost anywhere in the city worth visiting. And they are much faster than taxis.

Warwick - a fine stay

The hotel itself is historic -- nice sense of an elegant history continuing into the present. The location is great - close to transportation (trains, buses, taxis) and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from (from the very expensive to the reasonably priced for students). I would have given this hotel a five star rating with the exception of one thing - my room had a view of a brick wall -- I kept the curtains closed the whole time and enjoyed the room which was comfortable and attractive.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

If you're in a rush skip Randolph's bar and lounge.... The restaurant/bar is leisurely - have a glass of wine with a friend, talk for a while, order, and the food will come out a half hour or so later. Not a great place for lunch if you're a student or on a tight budget. We waited a while for our order to be taken, and the food (grilled cheese/soup for two - over $50 dollars, came out cold).

New York Getaway

This was a very good location for anyone who wants to be close to Manhattan midtown. The room was very large for NYC standards. The staff was very helpful other than a bartender who wanted to go home one evening. My only gripes were there was not free Wifi or an in room refrigerator which should be a must at a hotel of this caliber. I would give it two thumbs up though.

Location, Location Location!

Had a short weekend with extended family to pack in as much of NYC as possible. Couldn't have done it without having have stayed at this centrally located hotel. We were 2 blocks from the Subway, a 5-minute walk to Central Park, a 5-minute walk to Rockefeller Center, and a 10-minute walk from Times Square and the Theaters. We were met with comfy beds every night of our stay so we could rest and recoup quickly to take in as much of the city!

Nice Hotel, Stellar Price

This is a really nice hotel and, at a sub-$300 pricetag, perhaps the best deal I can recall getting on a New York hotel. The rooms are extremely spacious for New York and very tastefully and elegantly appointed. The location is pretty stellar for shopping dining or culture. The nicest area within striking distance of the theater district without the nightmare of times square. My only qualm is that the tiny elevators are not sufficient to service a 34 story hotel. That said, I would strongly recommend this hotel for business or pleasure.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Obviously there is plenty of shopping nearby just a short walk to the east, but my recommendation is to go to MommoFuko (sp.?) bakery and milkbar and get yourself a pork bun. Just a superlative and fairly unique food that exemplifies why New York's culinary dominance is not limited to fine dining.
