Wonderful weekend in city
I just wish they had a fridge and at least offered coffee/tea in room without needing to call room service. The room was a bit musty and when we put the heater on it smelled like it was burning so we kept it off. We went to rent a movie on TV and got a message that nobody was checked into the room so movies were not available. Quite frustrating.

Got to say you stayed here once
I have stayed at many NYC hotels and stay here when I have out of town guests to impress. But I am not impressed that I cannot make my own tea in the morning or that I have no fridge to keep my water or fruit in.

Great weekend getaway
Even with a foot of snow on the way and the Mayor closing the airports and most of the town, we had a wonderful time. Everyone at the hotel was very accommodating the rooms were very nice, however due to the age of the hotel it was a bit warm. The history of the hotel was very impressive and there are lots of stores right in the hotel itself. I would definitely stay there again if we return to NY.

Awesome hotel. Room price great. Hotel food and beverage overpriced
After staying in almost every "great" hotel in NYC over the last thirty years I decided to try out iconic hotels I have not stayed at during my travels. The Hotel and history are fabulous. I had room service and it was over 100 bucks for dinner. I didn't even have a salad and no desert. It is the most overpriced hotel I have ever stayed in as far as food and beverage. The money I save by booking was used for food and a couple drinks with a friend. There r better values.

Very nice stay at a hotel with a lot of history. Nice and very helpful staff. Only minus goes to the bathroom which needs some fixing and no cupboards in the room or place to hang clothes

Classic charm
This opulent jewel of NYC was a deal for a winter weekend stay. Close to all the attractions and fine dining midtown has to offer, quick cab ride to trendy downtown. Room was clean, comfy bed and clean bathroom. Check in was quick and staff friendly. Order a martini at Bull & Bear with the blue cheese stuffed olives, killer.
