Luxury hotel on Park Avenue in Midtown draws celebrities and politicos
This Art Deco property in Midtown Manhattan is the epitome of New York elegance. The Waldorf Astoria blends classic style with modern amenities to create a truly luxurious experience. The hotel opened in 1893 and has been popular with celebrities, dignitaries and heads of state ever since. Its lobbies are richly decorated, and guests are drawn to the quietly attentive service. The hotel is near St Patrick's Cathedral, shopping on Fifth Avenue and Radio City Music Hall.Highlights
- Midtown location close to Rockefeller Center and Fifth Avenue shopping
- Sunday brunch in Peacock Alley
- Hotel tours
Location
Saks Fifth Avenue and the famous Magnolia Bakery are both just a short walk.
Rooms
Richly decorated rooms include flat-screen TVs, marble bathrooms and triple sheeting bedding. Internet access (fees apply) is available. Suites start at 370 square feet for a Mini Suite and go up to 750- to 900-square-foot Luxury Suites with Park Avenue views.
Features
Guests have access to the hotel's 24-hour fitness center (fees apply). Steve Cohen, the "The Millionaires' Magician," performs his Chamber Magic show weekly at the hotel.

The Waldorf Astoria Hilton
Nice hotel in it's day. However now only 4 stars. Everything is so over priced. Sunday brunch buffet is $ 95.00. Mini bar can of soda is $6.60. Even charged $8.00 to use the computer in the business office just to print out my boarding pass. Room nothing special and small. 25 ft. X 56 ft. Maid service very fast. Front desk nice.

Half block walk out rear enterance to Lexington Ave and East 50 St. Had breakfast at the N.Y. Lunchonette for $7.00. great food too. Dinner is $10.00. Shop at Duane Reade Pharmacy and stock up on bottle water and snacks for your room. Keep out of the mini bar.Nice hotel if you are a rich person.

The Waldorf is still the Grand Dame of NYC!
Another wonderful stay @ The Waldorf!. Not just the grandeur of the lobby, but the attentiveness of the staff, the deliciousness of the breakfast @ Oscars,,, but they wrote the book on professionalism. A hotel is not just about what they do right, but how they handle problems. There was some unidentified noise on the floor above me, waking me up throughout the night . They sent someone up to check it 3 times. They changed my room for me while I was away from the hotel the next day and I returned to a wonderful room and 2 very good nights of sleep. They wrote the book on how to do it RIGHT. PS Sir Harry's is perfect setting to begin the evening in a chic, softly lit bar.

Perfect weekend away
Went for a special weekend away in New York and had a fantastic time at the Towers. The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly and attentive and the suite was incredible. We'd asked for views of the Chrysler Building and that's exactly what we got from every window. The suite was grand, the bed extremely comfortable. The only down side were the slow, relatively old TVs, but then we weren't in NYC to watch the television. I'd strongly recommend for anyone looking for that special trip - get in touch first to let them know your plans as they were very helpful and generous for us.

Great clock at the hall
My daughter who is 11 enjoyed so much to live in a very art deco hotel. But the must extraordinary for her was to hear the clock in the lobby sounds. She was looking for the time all the time to be there and hear it.
