Suite Sweet

I booked suite 39A in the Waldorf Astoria Towers and I was not disappointed. The room was spacious, luxuriously appointed, and simply gorgeous to behold. According to the book Churchill and America, Sir Winston Churchill stayed in this suite in 1931, so it's also historic (especially since it was during his stay that he was struck by a car on 5th Avenue). Overall, the Waldorf Astoria is the height of luxury and you will not be disappointed by staying here.

First time to New York...but definitely not the last!

To us the hotel was everything it was touted to be. Up to date amenities but still holding true to the classic feel of times gone by. I can't say enough about the friendliness and helpful attitude of the staff. To me, that was probably the best part. And the location is terrific. To the west side of Park Ave you have the upscale shopping of 5th Ave and the artsy feel of Broadway as well as Times Square and Rockefeller Center, all within a short walk. To the east side you have the authentic feel of NY delis and cafes. Central Park is not far to walk to and the downtown area is a 15-20 minute cab ride. We were on the 41st floor of the Towers and had a lovely view. Rooms are small but well appointed and clean. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Excellent but needs new common areas

The hotel is beautiful and the service is great but the shared bar and lobby with the Waldorf is tired and crowded.

Rooms are great, the bar is not

Rooms are beautiful and a great deal considering how beautiful the rooms are. The downside are the common areas and bar. The lobby to the towers is beautiful, but the bar is the same one as the rest of the Waldorf Astoria. It's tired, crowded, and desperately in need of an update.

No Complaints

This was my second stay at the Waldorf Towers and both experiences, though only short, one night stays, were excellent. this is a first class hotel that just happens to be in an ideal location for my business meetings. I have stayed in many different NYC hotels and none are better than this one.

Tower room experience

Ist room very poor not as described on our booking. Linen was not special linen, bathroom had 3 items not 4 no serinity day bed or ipod docking station and a dreadful view of just hotel windows and rooms. 2nd room we did get the waldorf special linen, no day serinity bed and ipod docking station. The bathroom - shower toilet bath and sink very poor and old type bathroom shower was like a small hole in the wall. View much better. We have stayed at the Waldorf 4 times now and three of the occassions the rooms have been what we had booked and paid for. Would we go back NO. We booked the Waldorf to celebrate my 65th birthday we have had much better hotel rooms for less money in New York.
