excellent hotel
The hotel is perfectly located on 37th st. between 5th and 6th ave. reception was quick, efficient and friendly. lobby was elegant, but not extravagant (i don't like the hotels which emphasize the lobby but have poorly built rooms, so I liked this hotel). The room was very small but sufficient. TV, Internet, IPOD docking - all where cool. View was non-existing, as 3 meters outside my window (I was on th floor) was another office building, so don't count on view from the room. Shower was nice, clean and towels was soft and clean. The roof-top bar was really nice with excellent view of the Empire state building. really nice at a cold winter night. The restaurant was very disappointing. serves were very small so I had to look for real food elsewhere. Overall, if your aim is to have a place to put your head after a day's work or trip, this is a very good place to be, just don't count on the restaurant and eat somewhere else.

Great Superbowl weekend
This hotel even though there was construction next door , was exceptional ,, to the incredible view from the roof top bar to the front desk . It has been years since I have stayed at a hotel where the staff truely was concerned with your stay ,, Cheers to everyone at the Strand and will see you in the fall .

We had a great time
The hotel is well located and clean. The staff is super friendly. The lobby its small but pretty. Theb roof top is fun.

Good location, within walking distance of most attractions. Slightly noisy on Saturday night - not sure if this was within the hotel or nearby - but didn't disturb us too much. Staff friendly and helpful.

You can ask for tea making facilities and they will bring kettle, cups and milk etc to your room free of charge. Just wished they left them there!

Fabulous Holiday
Hotel was very clean and well maintained. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful at all times providing advice and answers when wanted. The NYC pass was excellent value and we would recommend that visitors use them.

Romantic get away for two.
I was really impressed with all the staff. The gentleman, Peter, who checked us in remembered my name the entire stay I was there. Each time I passed by he would say Hello and use my name. If he wasn't there someone was always there to say hi. There was also someone always there to open the hotel doors for you. The staff was all smiling faces. The room was very comfortable, the shower had two spouts and was incredible. It was close to public transportation, Byrant Park (which was a relaxing place to have lunch) and to Times Square to see Musicals. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Weekend sightseeing trip
Central location, convenient for subway and sightseeing.Everyone in hotel friendly and helpful. Service is first class. Roof terrace has great views of city at night. Woukd recommend without hesitation.
