Unique for combining a sincere hospitality experience in the presence of thought-provoking art, the Roger Smith Hotel is a boutique hotel nestled among the skyscrapers of midtown Manhattan. Roger Smiths accommodations evoke the warmth, mood, and comfort of a guest room in a special friends home. Artwork, potted plants, and book collections are distinct touches uncommonly seen in a New York City hotel. In fact, each of our spacious 130 rooms and suites are individually decorated in classical New England designs.

Great Girls weekend in NYC!

We loved The Roger Smith Hotel. It was a great location for shopping, theater, restaurants and subway access. The hotel staff was very hospitable and responsive to any need or question. We thought the room was large, by NYC standards, and comfortable with club chairs and a love seat. We will definitely stay there again!!

Old school hotel at value

Older hotel but good value especially during high traffic weeks in NYC when newer hotels are charging double their normal rate.

good choice

Nice location, efficient staff. Nice room, spacious for NYC, though it was hard to find electrical outlets. Rooftop bar is pleasant for a drink & conversation.

family get away visiting son

Family of four visiting son/brother on his summer internship. Hotel Jr. Suite was a cute, homey room with a queen bed and queen size pull out coach. Felt like we were vacationing at grandmas. Great location, accommodating staff, quiet, yummy yogurt and granola in the morning. Easy access unloading and hotel staff valeted car at a nearby garage at $40.00/night. Only complaint was the mattress was a bit lumpy and property felt a bit dated.

Lovely boutique style hotel

The room was very comfortable and clean, the staff attentive and friendly. Although I am a West Side type, the location was very convenient, the vibe cozy and relaxed. High ceilings made the inevitably small room feel spacious.

OK hotel in good location

i didnt want to spend $400+ on a one night stay but wanted a nice comfortable bed and a good shower. The lobby is pretty old and tatty and the reception staff were pretty good, checking me in quickly. The bellman was not around very much so took my own bags which was not a problem. The room was quite old looking and the a/c was 1970's i think but it still worked so i cant complain too much but be aware of it. the bed was very comfortable though and sheets were all clean and white and the shower looked amazing. The water flow was pretty poor though but amenities were good and plenty of nice clean towels All in all a decent value hotel but it needs a makeover !!
