Great location and accommodations

Staff was extremely friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make things work for us. Room was very comfortable and cleaned impeccably every day. Location was close to subway, major museums, and Central Park. Will definitely stay there again.

The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and it was in a great location. The restaurant attached was excellent with an extensive gluten-free menu. We would definitely choose this hotel again.

In the city for a girls weekend. Hotel was nice, clean, helpful staff, great location and nice price! Super easy access to the subway! Just a few blocks off Central Park West.

Nice place

I enjoyed my stay here. The room looked brand-new--clearly recently renovated. It was BIG by New York standards! That's small by any other standards, but if you've stayed in Manhattan hotels before, you know what I'm talking about. This room had a comfortable desk, dresser, tiny closet, and enough space to actually walk without stumbling over the bed. Staff was helpful. Location is great if you like the Upper West Side and want to be away from the super-touristy midtown. Overall, a very good deal for the money.

Walk to Central Park. It's really close and it's really worth it--it's one of the most beautiful urban parks anywhere.

Love Lucerne

This was my second stay at this hotel. It's wonderful. My sister and I had a beautiful big room on the 12th floor, with 2 windows overlooking the city. It's clean, comfortable, has free safe, lovely staff and best of all close to everything: Zabars, good restaurants, parks, bus across Central Park to the museums, subway on the corner. And, while not exactly cheap it is reasonable. We will try to stay here every time we come to NY.

Great hotel, good location

Stayed at Lucerne while attending performance at the Beacon Theatre (only 5 blocks away). Hotel was intimate, in great condition, and had good service throughout. Room was on the small side, but was very clean and had everything I needed including free WiFi. Shower pressure was excellent! Great location with plenty restaurants nearby.

Good Find on the Upper West Side

This hotel is a good option on the Upper West Side where there aren't a huge number of options. The room is small and the bathroom is tiny, but all very clean and acceptable for a short stay. Location is great with loads of small, good restaurants in the neighborhood.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Before paying the $34/Night parking rate at a local garage, drive around and see if you can find on-street parking. We arrived at 12:30pm on a Friday and found a free, safe parking spot for the weekend only a couple blocks from the hotel. Beware: read the street signs carefully to be sure you don't need to move the car!

Perfect Place for our Stay

When we arrived we were given an upgrade to a superior suite. Everything went well. Beds extremely comfortable, staff very helpful. Worked real well for us. Would recommend to friends, and plan to stay there again. Near many good Kosher resturants. Walking distance to good shopping. Easy cab ride to anywhere in the city.

An idyllic place to stay!

Our room was quiet and spacious, the location was an easy walk to delightful restaurants, the service and amenities were noticeably above the ordinary (even a sturdy umbrella in the closet in case it rained!) -- and the price for all this pampering was a bargain. Everything we could have asked more plus a few delightful extras that surprised us!

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Although one was cozy, the other a shade more formal in feel, we loved Coppola's (just across the street!) for lunch, and Scaletta's (a short walk away on 77th)at dinner for the same basic reasons: noise levels that allowed conversation, delicious food, excellent service. Sunday brunch? Isabella's, almost next to the Scaletta's, offers one that would be hard to beat. Even on a wintery day, waiting outside for a table on with others opting to avoid the noisy bar area just inside)proved to have not just a heater -- we at the "snow bar" were brought hot chocolate as we waited, on the house! We happen to prefer served to buffet brunches, and Isabella's is close to ideal -- just look at their online menu!!! And our helpful server was a memorable plus as well. Three great places to eat out of three - all close by the hotel!
