Good but problems with staff

Good hotel, great location, but not the quality expected for this price! Staff not very nice as we asked for the breakfast that was included in our booking: had to insist and show printscreen to obtain it finally. Wireless and breakfast NOT included, charges too expensive for it. Bad breakfast organisation, long waiting at dining room, poor choice. Bathroom floor not really clean.... what to think of the room carpet...? But location is great

Great location, fabulous stay.

The Helmsley Park Lane was a wonderful hotel. When we checked in I inquired when the check out time was as I was running a race in Central Park the next day. The reception person said "whenever you want". That was lovely!! The room was great. What a great deal.

Terrible experience.

I ordered my room from this site less than an hour before I attempted to check in. The person at the front desk said they did not have record of my reservation yet, told me to come back in an hour. I came back in an hour. They still did not have the order. I showed him my confirmation number in my email on my smart phone . He took my debit card. He promised me that my debit card would not be debited, that everything would be in order when they received the confirmation from this site. You guessed it, my credit card was debited by both the Helmsley for $237, and by this site for $295. I called the Helmsley and they acknowledged the mistake. Three days later, both charges remain debited on my account. There is just no excuse for this. Additionally, the room was old, the bathroom was not totally clean (hair in sink, faucets not clean), and I was stuck next to a noisy elevator. Totally unplesant experience.

Great Return to NYC

The location of this hotel is great. Found the staff to be more than accomodating. Definitely would stay here again. I've walked past this place many times but always stayed at another hotel. This visit has made me a convert and will continue to return to The Park when I am in NYC. A great blend of old and new NYC!!!

NYC Trip

We checked in on Friday the 9th and when I told the front desk associate we were in NYC to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday, she upgraded us to a room on the 42nd floor with a magnificent view, informed us that we had complimentary breakfast, and our mini bar would be complimentary as well! Our room was beautiful with two double beds, the bathroom had oversized towels, and everything was very clean! The location was perfect, the concierge was always there to guide us and offer ideas of where to go and how to get there. A perfect stay!

Check out two amazing restaurants in SoHo. Mercer Kitchen and Lupa. Instead of walking, take the 1, A, or B train to Canal Street and walk. There are so many places to shop and people watch as well!

Great location

Superb hotel at great location south of central park. Staff are helpful and friendly. The rooms are big with nice traditional decor. Breakfast buffet was plentiful at the Park Room with an amazing floor to ceiling view of central park. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Purchasing a seven day subway metro card for twenty-nine dollars would allow unlimited travels uptown and downtown for twenty-four hours a day. An additional five dollars Airtrain ticket would reach all JFK terminals at minimal cost.
