The lovliest little hotel on the UES

The Franklin is a charming and romantic hotel located on the upper east side. The staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. I called to confirm my reservation and mentioned that it was our honeymoon and we were upgraded to a larger room at no charge! We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast each morning with various breads, meat & cheese, cereals, coffees, teas & juice. The staff even let us store our bags since we had a late evening flight the day we checked out. The subway was so close and we enjoyed being within walking distance to Central Park & Museum Mile. The Franklin is a place we will recommend and stay at again and again.

Small elegance

Very nice boutique hotel with small but luxurious rooms. Great for an overnight or a few days of uptown luxe. You will have difficulty with opening suitcases as there is little room around the bed and make sure with which you are with someone you can share small spaces.

My husband was in NYC for work

My husband was in NYC for work and on his last day I might him there and we stayed at the Franklin and had a great time! I would stay here again. The room was very romantic and the wine and cheese and breakfast they serve was a nice touch!

Convenient Location

The location was convenient for our visit. It was easy to catch a cab. Wasn't far from a bus line or subway. A variety of stores and restraunts were within a short walk. The room was decorated nicely with a comfortable bed. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.

For museum lovers

The hotel staff was very helpful and the rooms are tastefully decorated. The big complaint is the size of the rooms. The location on the upper east side is great.

Good choice for a short NYC visit

This modest hotel is well positioned for Upper East Side visitors short term. Staff could not be better; breakfast is fantastic. I'm used to small London hotels so was not put off by the diminutive scale of everything. The supershuttle, however never showed up (regardless of calls from the hotel staff the night before and in the morning)so I lost my prepaid $18 and had to take a cab. Avoid that "service" at all costs!

The Franklin in NYC

Hotel is clean, reasonably appointed. Room I had was very cramped, and the wireless service was very, very spotty. They offered breakfast, but I didn't use it either day. Location is good on upper east side of Manhattan - many good places to eat nearby.
