Favorite Spot
Great mid-town location and the service and amenities beat the chains by a mile. There are some average rooms, but also some very nice rooms. The pillow menu is cool. The comp breakfast was first class. The only glitch was the first room they gave me had someone in it already...

A pleasant place to stay for a family
We stayed here for a family visit that included a Broadway show, walking around Central Park, and shopping. The hotel has a charming exterior, but the lobby is modest. (Perhaps that's due to the renovation?) From the moment we arrived, the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and well-maintained; we got a good-sized room for the price we paid. The kitchenette is a nice plus. The location at 50th and Lexington was not in the heart of things, but not too far either. It's close to Times Square and Madison Avenue stores, but there are not many good dining options nearby and the hotel restaurant was closed.

Vintage Class, Shaky Service
Housekeeping, valet and concierge were all friendly. However it contrasted with the apathetic even hostile treatment of the front desk employees.

great stay at the Benjamin
we had a very enjoyable stay in this hotel, location great for us,as we were meeting overseas family members who were staying at a different hotel in the area. The restaurant and spa were closed for renovations, so we did not have the use of the facilities, although breakfast buffet had been set in a different area of the hotel, we felt it was a little pricey for what we would want to eat.The staff were very helpful and friendly and the room comfortable, although the refrigerator was a little noisy, and the air conditionar blew directly onto the bed.Generally it was a very pleasant stay for us MJH

Mother-daughter getaway
The Benjamin was near many destination points for our sightseeing trip to NYC. It provided a peaceful, quiet, comfortable environment to retreat to after spending hours in the city. The staff had soft music playing and the bed linens folded down when we returned in the evening!

Short walk from hotel
The hotel restaurant itself was under renovation and the best hotel dining option was room service (which was excellent). Many restaurants within close proximity though.
