Great last minute buy
Well located, large rooms. Online reservation did not load into the hotel system. They made me wait for 50 min. Manager on duty was in a meeting. Friendly bellmen, not so front desk. Large fridge, microwave, sink in deluxe room studio.

perfectly fine midtown hotel
The room, maybe it was the kitchenette, had a bad cleanser smell that never left for my three days. The concierge had no recommendation just off the cuff when I asked if anything was popping in town that day. Seems like she should be trained to always have one thing to suggest. The room is too dark but spacious as NY goes. The toilet seat didn't stay up. Small point but it was designed that way. Wacky. Elevators slow. People friendly, good location.

End your search. Always book The Benjamin.
Worth every penny. I was sick one morning/day and the staff at The Benjamin was kind and compassionate. Brought me ice for my wicked migraine and helped me arrange delivery of medicine from the local pharmacy. Even had a bowl of soup and tea delivered. The rooms and linens are impeccable. Like I said. End your search and always book here.

Warm in October
Good sized comfortable room. Really liked the mirror in the bathroom. Coffee Maker gave me troubles but they fixed it. Liked the pillow menu. very comfortable bed, slept well. Quiet. The heat actually worked in the first week of October unlike the Waldorf last year when I froze because the heat wasnt on.

The Benjamin
I stayed overnight at The Benjamin for a business meeting the next day. The location is great and in walking distance to shopping, restaurants, etc. The Benjamin is a conservative hotel and has old school charm, but the facility would need to be upgraded a bit to give it five stars. For the price, I would stay there again. Also, the National is the restaurant and the food and wine there was very good.

Great Place to stay in downtown NYC
We arrived early and there was a room available and hotel staff allowed us to check in early. Was able to enjoy NY as soon as we arrived. The Blue Bus tour stop was just accross the next street so we didn't have to use a cab or subway to get around downtown Manhattan. Rooms are bigger than expected for a NY hotel, was upgraded to a kingsize bed. Elevators were fast and since it was not exactly at times square or Rockefeller ctr, traffic in front of the hotel was ok.

Entertainment tip:
Short walk from hotel
If planning on watching broadway shows, make sure to get your tickets at the TKTS office in Times Square, they have tickets at 20-50% off box office tickets for that days show. Lines were not as bad, I was only in line for about 15-20 mins.
