Big Apple weekend!
CC's big apple Nov 11, 2009
We toured the city and found the location of the hotel to be the best! Our favorite place was the bar and lounge where we ... could easily unwind in a calm and quiet atomosphere after a hectic day of walking and walking all over the city. We didn't stay in the room except to sleep and found it very adequate although I would have wished for a little more space but it was really just fine. The employees were very friendly and helpful and our floor was very quiet. I have already recommended this hotel to others who are planning a trip to NYC in the near future.

We were in NYC to go to the Met and to see Billy Elliott, plus other plays. It compared well to other trips. The only bad ... thing about the trip was the terrible delays we encounted with the airline. We did not get back to Birmingham until 2 in the morning.

Nice location, not so nice room
NYC fan Oct 19, 2009
We truly loved the location of the hotel. We were only a few blocks from Times Square and the Theater District plus all the ... stores and then also a few blocks away from Central Park. We felt we were in the middle of everything which was great! A super location. BUT...the room was in need of some TLC. The heat did not work at all, even after we called and the hotel had an engineer come take a look at it. While a friendly hotel, they still did not move us to another room with working heat. It was VERY chilly in the room! Also, the outlet in the bathroom stopped working completely on the second day. We tried, tried, and tried to reset the outlet but it never helped. No working outlet in the bathroom was very inconvenient. Another point to mention though is that we really were not in the room all that much. There was so much to see and do that we didn't spend much time there at all. I think next time around we will try somewhere less expensive since we were disappointed with the quality of the room for the price plus not in the room for very long periods of time.

There are MANY great restaurants in NYC but our favorites were the ones we found on the not so populated cross streets. Times Square is busy and fun and there are many places to choose from. The side streets coming right off there had great places to eat, definitely worth looking in that direction.

It was so much fun to walk out to the hustle and bustle of 7th Avenue! Being able to escape to a wonderful, quiet room was ... also a plus. The views were stupendous! Having a crisp, clean duvet on our bed really did it for me. No mystery of who sat on the bedspread. The beds and pillows were the best. Our stay at this hotel was wonderful and the staff was made us feel very welcome. Nothing is perfect, the halls and carpets throughout were a little tired. Overall, we did love it.
