Very cool hotel
The doormen greeted us with a smile, and joked that there was a $20 cover charge to get in - which fooled me for a second because I thought maybe I was at the wrong location - the entrance seemed like it could be a nightclub. The loungey vibe and the dim lighting continued the nightclub feel inside. Indie, who checked us in, could not have been more pleasant. Our room was super sweet. I love that there were candles in the room and in the bathroom. The shower was amazing - both the design, the fixtures, and the water pressure! Being that it is only a couple blocks from Times Square, I was surprised that the room was as quiet as it was. Overall, one of the coolest hotels I've ever visited.

DARK, DARK, DARK!
Lobby and room too dark. Decor too modern and not comfortable. Furnishings were not well suited for more mature guests. No where to sit in room due to couch that was not functional and desk out near middle of room. Bed had no top sheet and light blanket, which caused uncomfortable, hot night. Hard to find hotel due to insufficient signage out front. Staff was very efficient and helpful, but will not return.

The Royalton Hotel advantages and disadvantages
The rooms are convenient, clean and the staff is curteous. The problem is with the toilets that flush with a vacuum suction like on planes. This makes enormous noise like small explosions. The noise is so loud that you hear the flushings from other rooms. Imagine what it is like when toilets from hundreds of rooms are flushed throughout entire nights. It becomes a real disturbance.
