The New Yorker is an older hotel, but in a really amazing location. While Ramada-branded hotels can be inconsistent, this ... hotel was nicely maintained. It seems as if the rooms were recently renovated. The only minor nit is that it was a cold snowy weekend and the room could be a bit drafty at times, but it wasn't anything turning up the heat couldn't fix. The rates were very reasonable for the size and quality of the room I received.

This is a great place to stay during the Christmas holiday as it is one block from Macy's. Times Square and shopping on 5th Avenue are also both easy walks. The train station is nearby as well. Great location.

The hotel is in a very good location close to famous attractions and Broadway theaters. This was our first time in New York ... and the hotel's location made our stay easier. The price was also good compared to other hotels. Small rooms but clean. Some of the front desk staff was quite unfriendly and rude but it's not a deal breaker.

It's a great older-style hotel in a wonderful location. The valet staff, desk staff, and others were very helpful and ... professional. The only thing that could have made the room nicer would have been in-room coffee; but the Hotel does have a great coffee shop in the lobby.

short week-end visit to see the holiday lights and shopping. great location, near everything. very comfortable hotel. room ... was very small, but, that's what you get when you book on line to get the cheapest rate, and pay in advance. one has no recourse when arriving and checking in to request more suitable rooms. But, that's New York City. one doesn't travel to NYC to stay in one's room all day.

I took the train to NYC to catch a concert at Madison Square Garden (which is just a block down the street) and left early ... the next morning. This hotel was perfect for the overnight portion of the trip. Check-in was a breeze. My room was Manhattan small but I was only in it to change clothes before the show and sleep afterwards. The room looked like it had recently been renovated and was very clean. The hotel is extrememly convenient for anybody arriving and/or departing from Penn Station.

ONCE WE FIGURED OUT WHERE WE WERE WE TOOK THE NIGHT LIGHT TOUR ON ARRIVAL NIGHT, PLANE WAS LATE SO WE HAD TO HUSSLE TO GET TO ... THE TOUR. HAD TO TAKE A TAXI AND LOSE ONE PREPAID SHUTTLE RIDE, THEY WERE SURLY AND COULD NOT ASSURE OUR GETTING TO SITE. RECOMMEND TAXI RATHER THAN SHUTTLE, FASTER AND NO STOPS AND SOMETIMES A DRIVER PERSPECTIVE TOUR DEPENDING ON DRIVER. HOTEL GREAT LOCATION, COFFEE BEST ACROSS STREET. WALKABLE DISTANCE TO UPTOWN, TAKE 7TH RATHER THAN 8TH, CLEANER AND MORE TO SEE. NOT FAR. UPTOWN CENTRAL STATION JUST WONDERFUL , LIGHTS, SOUNDS, LIFE, SAFE!!!. NOT WHAT I EXPECTED, SAFE AT ALL TIMES.

The room was very small, but clean, with comfortable beds. It was listed as a renovated deco hotel, but they renovated with ... particle board and laminate. Location was great if you like midtown, which I do. Would go back, but not for the price I paid.

As tourists we also took the grey line tour - 48 hours to hop off and on. The tour guides were very good at filling us in on some of the special nuances of the sites we were passing. We hit areas all over so that we could get off and walk around, then catch the tour bus back to where we needed to go. A great alternative to taxi's and trying to figure out the subway system.
