Great location, nice room

Located in mid-town Manhattan, Park South is an easy walking distance to Times Square/Theater District, or downtown; I walked as far as SoHo easily. I had a small but recently renovated room on an upper floor; it was very nicely decorated (no chintz or yucky wallpaper!), had good clothes storage space, a very small but well-renovated bathroom, and a not-too-noisy air-con unit. It was lacking a small fridge but otherwise was fine. The included continental breakfast was more than adequate, and of a reasonable quality. The included WiFi worked well. I would definitely recommend Park South if you're on a budget* but don't want to compromise cleanliness, safety, and location. *As with any Manhattan hotel in summer, 'budget' is a relative term ... as to be expected in New York!

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

If coming from JFK, take the Airtrain to Jamaica Statin, then the M Subway to Lexington Ave/53rd St. From there, take the 6 line down to 28th St E; the hotel is a 3-minute walk from there. The only train stop that had no elevator/escalator was at 28th St. This journey from JFK to Manhattan cost $7.50 and took ~1hour.

Work Overnighter

Stayed for a last minute, overnight work trip. The staff was lovely. Room and bathroom was clean, just wasn't a fan of being on the first floor, but I guess that is what you get for a last minute reservation!!! Complimentary breakfast with coffee and juice the next day was a nice touch since nothing is "complimentary" anymore in NYC!

Convenient location for mid and downtown business

Good proximity to getting to Tribeca and mid town. Nice breakfast included and a very adequate fitness room. Rooms are compact, clean with comfortable beds. Good WiFi. Hotel staff very courteous and accommodating. No longer has the restaurant that was wonderful and that was a disappointment. Plenty of places nearby to eat and drink. Reasonable hotel parking just 2 blocks away.

Great neighborhood hotel!

Great little hotel, new roof top bar is lovely! Had air conditioning issue and resolved it as quickly as possible, unfortunately it meant the inconvenience of a room change and repacking for me

Location location location

Nice location & a very nice room. Just a 10 minute walk to the Empire State Building. Good bars nearby. Lots of Indian food nearby if you're into that. Room was clean and comfortable. However...I had an ongoing problem with the TV reception and channels missing. For 4 out of my 6 nights, I did not have any ESPN. I told the staff about it 4 times and it was magically fixed on the 4th time.

Directly behind the hotel on 27th St. is one of the best BBQ places I've ever eaten at called Blue Smoke. Sampler platter was all good & best mac-n-cheese I've ever had!

Fun in the City

Great location, easy access to subway (up the block!) So much to do even if you're travling alone. Lots of nightlife, shopping and attractions close by. Nice cozy restaurant and bar in hotel, tiny but sufficient fitness room, very friendly staff, nice lobby (pleasant surprise for NY) very clean hallways and rooms. Rooms are small but I've seen smaller (standard room is too small if traveling with children but great for couples). Safe neighborhood, easy to park on street on weekends, very clean and comfy bed, pillows, towels etc. Great FREE breakfast in cozy dining room! Would definitely stay again!

Love this place

We come for Toy Fair and this is the 3rd year we have stayed the Park South Hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and comfortable. The included breakfast is better than just pastry & cereal. The location is great- not in the hustle & bustle, but close enough. Great Indian restaurants are close by, or a simple "deli" type option around the corner at "Bread & Butter" if you want a quiet evening. The bar had some great and uncommon beers on tap. Nice to try something new. I'd recommend (and have done so) the Park South Hotel to anyone.

Needs an upgrade, but great value

The rugs were worn and the room small, but the room was clean, the service was good and the location the best, right off of the 6 line in the Flatiron District.

Okay for One Stay

Most of the front staff were friendly. Key card was constantly deactivated and one so-so front staff thought it was because I was due to check-out when actually I still had a week stay left. Disappointed that in staying for 10 nights the room faced inside of the building, was small, tight, and not properly cleaned (no wiping of tables and not vacuumed), plus the heat did not work very well.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

This hotel is okay if you are looking for a good deal, but if you are seeking a dazzling NYC vacation, would spend a few hundred more on another place.
