Location, location, location

The Park Lane Hotel is perfectly located and priced. The front desk staff and the house keeping staff were wonderful. The room decor was very "I am staying at grandma's place" circa 1982. I enjoyed the retro feel. Elevators were super fast and the bed was very comfortable. These are the positive aspects of this hotel. Now, seriously, in 2014 someone is charging $13 for internet?! There are no ice machines in the entire hotel, yet there are really nice ice buckets in the room. I encountered several guests wandering my floor looking for vending and ice machines. Apparently, one could call room service for ice but there is no room service after 1 am. Just kind of weird. Housekeeping was super nice but I wish that they had vacuumed the corners of the room. My daughter tried to call the front desk, the manager, and the concierge about the ice issue but never could get a hold of anyone. She did get a response from housekeeping and they offered to bring ice to the room. Again, they were always very accommodating. Anyway, for my needs, the Park Lane was just fine, although Internet and ice would have been appreciated. I am sure that a more demanding guest might be put off by the lack of staff and amenities.

getaway

hotel location is excellent; on a nice day Broadway theaters are a 10- 15 minute walk and restaurants are all over; while hotel room was nice it does not appear to have been renovated recently; room amenities like coffee machine are missing; refrigerator not even plugged in; hallway on tenth floor required night vision goggles to see where you were going; interactions with staff were pleasant.

Best Hotel in Midtown!

I booked onlineand it was one of the best values I've ever had in a hotel booked online! This hotel was first class all the way: the bedding, the service, the views, the location could not be beat! This is the only hotel that I will stay in for future NY visits! We were able to go shopping on Fifth Avenue, walk to Lincoln Center, tour the Museum of Modern Art, walk through Central Park. The hotel made our vacation beyond memorable.

Great hotel .Great location

This hotel is fabulous very clean and very helpful staff all around. The only reason i have not given it 5stars in all categories is that there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room we had and no minibar. The location could not be any better 25 min walk to times sq and 1 min walk to the quiet of central park surrounded by nice diners and delis all with amazing food. Food in the hotel also good drinks a little pricey but overall a great hotel book with confidence.

Hotel Room

When we arrived at our hotel room, it was not ready. The person who brought us to the room asked us to wait. When he came back, he brought us to the highest or near-highest floor with a spectacular view of the city and Central Park off to our right-hand side. We loved the view and the room. I don't know what our original room would have been like, but the room we ended up with was super nice. The view and the amenities. Perfect for my wife and me. Highly recommend this hotel also for its location next to Central Park. Loved this area and hotel!
