Nice location, dirty room,

The hotel was in a good location giving us access to the park and many city sites. The downside to this great location was the state of the room when we checked in. There was trash in the bins, the safe was not working and the Internet connection would not work through the Ethernet connection. As well well in general the room had a lot of dust and did not seem to have been cleaned well for a while. Some of the staff were helpful while others working at the reception were not friendly and did not solve our problems.

Steer clear from here

Rooms are sub-par, beds are not very comfortable, air conditioner noisy.Only 2 elevator and the controls for them broke constantly, causing long queue lines just to get to/from your room. Also somehow they screwed up my [...] order and said I only booked 1 day even tho I clearly booked 2 days with receipt to prove it. Had to call [...] to straighten it out, ended up wasting alot of time.

Lacklustre and dull

A dull, lacklustre place, overpriced for what you get - despite the great location. Most staff - with a couple of exceptions ( the concierge was great) were unfriendly and bored, and the room had a number of annoying faults: one of the bedside lamps didn't work; the soap dish in the bathroom had a cigarette burn in it while the soap was sitting in dirty paper; there was no mini bar and no tea/coffee making facilities; no extra douvet and no iron ( it had to be ordered through room service, at a cost). There seemed to be little communication between front desk and other parts of the organisation, leading to intrusive behaviour by staff - cleaning staff, who knocked on our door early in the morning, to check to see if we were leaving, and the house internet billing service ( we used the internet and had someone hammering on the door early in the morning to deliver the bill).

ok, but!

It was close to where I wanted to be. Nice? ok. cleaned my room once! but only changed sheets. No coffee in the room. Concierge gave me bad advice about getting back to airport and I ended up over 4 hrs. early. Rate it a two in comparable priced stays! Do not use hotel transportation three times more expensive!

Review of Park Central New York 2/9

The toilet was filthy! Not clean at all! You could not control the temperature in the room and there were hairs on the bed sheets. I also had a roll-out bed in my room and did not request that. The 5th floor elevators also did not work and I had to walk 5 flights of steps in heels and with luggage. Terrible experience overall.

Bad service but at least it was clean

The hotel has a good location, unfortunately the service at the hotel is lacking. The front desk staff was rude on multiple occasions. As a bonus they charge for storing luggage even for guests. I would suggest looking somewhere else. Honestly,we prefer the Comfort Inn in the garment district.

good location, shabby hotel

We made a reservation for 2 adults and our granddaughter, yet the room was very small and the bathroom tiny, though everything worked. The hallway was narrow, elevators worked sporadically and the room was shabby, carpet was torn, plaster was falling off of the walls, clock was broken, air conditioner didn't work well. The location was very good, with good, inexpensive breakfast and lunch cafes a block away. (Fluffy's, in particular)

Park Central New York

Close to Times Square, Central Park, and right on the subway line. It was also very easy to get a cab outside the hotel. The room was very average and only had one bar of soap in the bathroom, no glasses with the ice bucket, no bath mat, and the remote did not work. The a/c was also noisy. When called, the hotel staff were accommodating, but you should get more on 7th Avenue. The biggest problem was that my reservation was confirmed for a king size bed, and we could only get twins on arrival. They made no effort to follow up on the king and actually asked me to plead with the hotel manager the next day (and joked about doing it). Because of our schedule, we did not follow up and stayed in the twin room. The hotel elevators were slow and you had different elevators (in different locations) to go up and down. Nobody told us this fun fact, and no signs were posted near the elevators. Great location, average room, and questionable customer service. I would pay more for the Sheraton, up the street.
