Business Trip

Great location near Columbus Circle and central park. Many restaurants within walking distance. Very close to subway stops. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were generous in size. Would definitely stay here when in town again.

Great location

Great staff and check-in process. Didn't treat us any different because we booked through 3rd party/got a good price. Were able to check us in early. Sooo close to central park. I think they might be doing some work on the hotel because it was a mix of rusty brass light fixtures, then really nice sheets, then really nice lobby, then painters tape in the elevator hallway, etc. My only issues were the pillows - really soft, and only got three of them for a King bed so ONE of us got to prop their heads up to watch TV. Also, it was really warm in our room and the AC unit only produced heat. Our first clue should have been when we walked in and started sweating, even though they had left the window open (40 degrees outside in winter). That's another thing - we were on the 25th floor, and the window opens - no screen, bars, balcony, etc. So BE CAREFUL if you stay here with small children!!! We stayed at a swanky hotel in Times Square the other nights and were equally pleased with this placel, especially for the price! Would go back!

great location

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the location was perfect to central park and times square!!! Rooms were ok not much to them but I didn't spend much time in the room bc I was exploring NYC. The room was kind of hot but I just cracked the window. Good prices for the location. I would stay there again!

not a 4 star hotel

How this is a 4 star hotel is beyond me. Paid over 450 per night and had to move because the they could not control the heat in the room. Had to move myself because the phone didn't work and they would not answer at the bellmans station when I called from cellphone. Had no washclothes in the room the first night. Furnishing's are inadequate at best-Room service was a joke.I was told they were undergoing a remodeling and that was the reason for the issues

They don't like customers who use 3rd party online travel services

I have stayed at this hotel for business travel for years and have always had a great room and great experience. This stay, the room was sub-par. I had a broken desk chair and requested a new one and it was never delivered. When I checked out and requested a hotel receipt, they told me that they couldn't provide one - that I had to get it from the third party online travel service. I would reconsider this hotel in the future but most definitely would not book it through a third party -- they don't take good care of guests who use third party online travel services.

NY Trip

Staff is fantastic. The room was clean, though very small and the bathroom was tiny (I had to turn sideways to close the bathroom door). The location was perfect for the things we were there to do. I considered the cost to be a good value. The ice machines didn't work on floors 10 & 11 (we were staying on 11) and the Coke machines didn't work 9 or 10. So, in order to get Cokes and a bucket of ice, if you were on 11, you had to get the ice on 9 and the Cokes on 11. I reported this on Sunday and it still wasn't fixed by Tuesday evening. Other than those things...it was good.

Stay away from the Hotel's restaurant. Food is a little pricey and not cooked very well. The bakery is good, however.

Are you Kidding me? 4 Star???

I used to think that reviews were from picky complainers. I am a seasoned traveler who can roll with the flow, but.....Filthy bathroom with dirty floors, counter and towels. the drains didn't work. No heat control. Needed to open windows to be comfortable. No pen, no paper, no robes, no glasses in bathroom, housekeeping carts remained a permanent fixture outside the room throughout the stay. Shabby furniture, radio didn't work. Lobby artwork covered with dirt. Elevator walls and floors were dirty.Towels felt like sandpaper. Bedding and beds were ok. Location is good if you like a midtown base. Staff was fine. I will NEVER stay at this or any affiliated hotel again. What a sham!

The Museum of Art and Design (MAD) at Columbus Circle always has family accessible, interesting and manageable exhibits, beautiful gift shop and wonderful restaurant Robert on the 9th floor overlooking Columbus Circle. Reservation is a good idea.

Great location, get elevator issues fixed

Very nice hotel at a great location. Room was a good size. The chair was dirty...obviously, there had been some partying on it that left stains of some kind. The staff was great and the bar in the lobby, nice. Biggest issue, the elevators. We waited for 15 minutes for an elevator and there were four, bit only two ever opened.
